4 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto him,
Call <7121 qara> > his name <8034 shem > Jezreel <3157 Yizr@<e>l

will avenge <6485 paqad > the blood <1818 dam > of Jezreel <3157

6 And she conceived <2030 hareh > again <5750 <owd >, and bare

Loruhamah <3819 Lo> Ruchamah >: for I will no <3808 lo> > more

7 But I will have mercy <7355 racham > upon the house < 1004

will not save <3467 yasha< > them by bow <7198 qesheth >, nor by

people <5971 <am >, and I will not be your [God].

Hosea 2

2 Plead <7378 riyb > with your mother <0517 >em >, plead <7378
riyb >: for she [is] not my wife <0802 >ishshah >, neither <3808
lo> > [am] I her husband <0376 >iysh >: let her therefore put
<5493 cuwr > away <5493 cuwr > her whoredoms <2183 zanuwn > out
of her sight <6440 paniym >, and her adulteries <5005 na>aphuwph

4 And I will not have mercy <7355 racham > upon her children
<1121 ben >; for they [be] the children <1121 ben > of whoredoms

5 For their mother <0517 >em > hath played the harlot <2181
zanah >: she that conceived <2030 hareh > them hath done
shamefully <3001 yabesh >: for she said <0559 >amar >, I will go
<3212 yalak > after <0310 >achar > my lovers < 0157 >ahab >, that
give <5414 nathan > [me] my bread <3899 lechem > and my water

7 And she shall follow <7291 radaph > after <0310 > achar > her
lovers <0157 >ahab >, but she shall not overtake < 5381 nasag >
them; and she shall seek <1245 baqash > them, but shall not find
<4672 matsa> > [them]: then shall she say <0559 > amar >, I will

8 For she did not know <3045 yada< > that I gave < 5414 nathan >

yitshar >, and multiplied <7235 rabah > her silver < 3701 keceph

9 Therefore <3651 ken > will I return <7725 shuwb >, and take
<3947 laqach > away my corn <1715 dagan > in the time <6256 <eth
> thereof, and my wine <8492 tiyrowsh > in the season <4150
mow<ed > thereof, and will recover <5337 natsal > my wool <6785

10 And now <6258 <attah > will I discover <1540 galah > her

natsal > her out of mine hand <3027 yad >.

11 I will also cause all <3605 kol > her mirth <4885 masows >
to cease <7673 shabath >, her feast <2282 chag > days, her new
<2320 chodesh > moons <2320 chodesh >, and her sabbaths <7676
shabbath >, and all <3605 kol > her solemn <4150 mow<ed > feasts

12 And I will destroy <8074 shamem > her vines <1612 gephen >
and her fig <8384 t@>en > trees, whereof <0834 > aher > she hath
said <0559 >amar >, These <1992 hem > [are] my rewards <0866

me: and I will make <7760 suwm > them a forest <3293 ya<ar >,

13 And I will visit <6485 paqad > upon her the days < 3117 yowm
> of Baalim <1168 Ba<al >, wherein <0834 >aher > she burned

14. Therefore <3651 ken >, behold <2009 hinneh >, I will allure
<6601 pathah > her, and bring <1980 halak > her into the
wilderness <4057 midbar >, and speak <1696 dabar > comfortably
unto her.

15 And I will give <5414 nathan > her her vineyards < 3754 kerem
> from thence <8033 sham >, and the valley <6010 < emeq > of
Achor <5911 <Alowr > for a door <6607 pethach > of hope <8615
tiqvah >: and she shall sing <6030 <anah > there < 8033 sham >,
as in the days <3117 yowm > of her youth <5271 na<uwr >, and as
in the day <3117 yowm > when she came <5927 <alah > up out of
the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim >.

16 And it shall be at that day <3117 yowm >, saith < 5002 n@>um
> the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, [that] thou shalt call < 7121 qara> >
me Ishi <0376 >iysh >; and shalt call <7121 qara> > me no <3808
lo> > more <5750 <owd > Baali <1180 Ba<aliy >.

17 For I will take <5493 cuwr > away <5493 cuwr > the names
<8034 shem > of Baalim <1168 Ba<al > out of her mouth <6310 peh
>, and they shall no <3808 lo> > more <5750 < owd > be remembered
<2142 zakar > by their name <8034 shem >.

18 And in that day <3117 yowm > will I make <3772 karath > a
covenant <1285 b@riyth > for them with the beasts <2416 chay >
of the field <7704 sadeh >, and with the fowls <5775 < owph > of
heaven <8064 shamayim >, and [with] the creeping <7431 remes >
things of the ground <0127 >adamah >: and I will break <7665
shabar > the bow <7198 qesheth > and the sword <2719 chereb >
and the battle <4421 milchamah > out of the earth <0776 >erets >,
and will make them to lie <7901 shakab > down <7901 shakab >
safely <0983 betach >.

19 And I will betroth <0781 >aras > thee unto me for ever <5769
<owlam >; yea, I will betroth <0781 >aras > thee unto me in
righteousness <6664 tsedeq >, and in judgment <4941 mishpat >,
and in lovingkindness <2617 checed >, and in mercies < 7356
racham >.

20 I will even betroth <0781 >aras > thee unto me in
faithfulness <0530 >emuwnah >: and thou shalt know < 3045 yada< >
the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

21 And it shall come <1961 hayah > to pass in that day < 3117
yowm >, I will hear <6030 <anah >, saith <5002 n@>um > the LORD
<3068 Y@hovah >, I will hear <6030 <anah > the heavens <8064
shamayim >, and they shall hear <6030 <anah > the earth <0776
>erets >;

22 And the earth <0776 >erets > shall hear <6030 < anah > the
corn <1715 dagan >, and the wine <8492 tiyrowsh >, and the oil
<3323 yitshar >; and they shall hear <6030 <anah > Jezreel <3157
Yizr@<e>l >.

23 And I will sow <2232 zara< > her unto me in the earth <0776
>erets >; and I will have mercy <7355 racham > upon her that had
not obtained <5375 nasa> > mercy <7355 racham >; and I will say
<0559 >amar > to [them which were] not my people < 5971 <am >,
Thou [art] my people <5971 <am >; and they shall say < 0559 >amar

Hosea 3

1. Then said <0559 >amar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > unto me, Go

>ishshah > beloved <0157 >ahab > of [her] friend <7453 rea< >,
yet an adulteress <5003 na>aph >, according to the love <0160

5 Afterward <0310 >achar > shall the children <1121 ben > of
Israel <3478 Yisra>el > return <7725 shuwb >, and seek <1245
baqash > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > their God <0430 > elohiym >,
and David <1732 David > their king <4428 melek >; and shall fear
<6342 pachad > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > and his goodness <2898

Hosea 4

1. Hear <8085 shama< > the word <1697 dabar > of the LORD <3068
Y@hovah >, ye children <1121 ben > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >:
for the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hath a controversy <7379 riyb >
with the inhabitants <3427 yashab > of the land <0776 >erets >,
because <3588 kiy > [there is] no <0369 >ayin > truth <0571
>emeth >, nor <0369 >ayin > mercy <2617 checed >, nor <0369
>ayin > knowledge <1847 da<ath > of God <0430 >elohiym > in the
land <0776 >erets >.

2 By swearing <0422 >alah >, and lying <3584 kachash >, and
killing <7523 ratsach >, and stealing <1589 ganab >, and
committing <5003 na>aph > adultery <5003 na>aph >, they break
<6555 parats > out, and blood <1818 dam > toucheth <5060 naga< >
blood <1818 dam >.

3 Therefore shall the land <0776 >erets > mourn < 56>, and every
<3605 kol > one that dwelleth <3427 yashab > therein shall
languish <0535 >amal >, with the beasts <2416 chay > of the
field <7704 sadeh >, and with the fowls <5775 <owph > of heaven
<8064 shamayim >; yea <1571 gam >, the fishes < 1709 dag > of the

away.

4 Yet <0389 >ak > let no <0408 >al > man < 0376 >iysh > strive
<7378 riyb >, nor <0408 >al > reprove <3198 yakach > another
<0376 >iysh >: for thy people <5971 <am > [are] as they that
strive <7378 riyb > with the priest <3548 kohen >.

5 Therefore shalt thou fall <3782 kashal > in the day < 3117
yowm >, and the prophet <5030 nabiy> > also <1571 gam > shall
fall <3782 kashal > with thee in the night <3915 layil >, and I
will destroy <1820 damah > thy mother <0517 >em >.

6. My people <5971 <am > are destroyed <1820 damah > for lack
<1097 b@liy > of knowledge <1847 da<ath >: because <3588 kiy >
thou hast rejected <3988 ma>ac > knowledge <1847 da<ath >, I
will also reject <3988 ma>ac > thee, that thou shalt be no
priest <3547 kahan > to me: seeing thou hast forgotten < 7911
shakach > the law <8451 towrah > of thy God <0430 > elohiym >, I
will also <1571 gam > forget <7911 shakach > thy children <1121
ben >.

7 As they were increased <7230 rob >, so <3651 ken > they
sinned <2398 chata> > against me: [therefore] will I change
<4171 muwr > their glory <3519 kabowd > into shame <7036 qalown
>.

8 They eat <0398 >akal > up the sin <2403 chatta> ah > of my
people <5971 <am >, and they set <5375 nasa> > their heart <5315
nephesh > on <0413 >el > their iniquity <5771 < avon >.

9 And there shall be, like people <5971 <am >, like priest
<3548 kohen >: and I will punish <6485 paqad > them for their
ways <1870 derek >, and reward <7725 shuwb > them their doings
<4611 ma<alal >.

10 For they shall eat <0398 >akal >, and not have enough <7644
Shebna> >: they shall commit <2181 zanah > whoredom <2181 zanah
>, and shall not increase <6555 parats >: because < 3588 kiy >
they have left <5800 <azab > off to take heed <8104 shamar > to
the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.

11 Whoredom <2184 z@nuwth > and wine <3196 yayin > and new
<8492 tiyrowsh > wine <8492 tiyrowsh > take <3947 laqach > away
the heart <3820 leb >.

12. My people <5971 <am > ask <7592 sha>al > counsel at their
stocks <6086 <ets >, and their staff <4731 maqqel > declareth
<5046 nagad > unto them: for the spirit <7307 ruwach > of
whoredoms <2183 zanuwn > hath caused [them] to err <8582 ta<ah >,
and they have gone a whoring <2181 zanah > from under < 8478
tachath > their God <0430 >elohiym >.

13 They sacrifice <2076 zabach > upon the tops <7218 ro>sh > of
the mountains <2022 har >, and burn <6999 qatar > incense <6999
qatar > upon the hills <1389 gib<ah >, under <8478 tachath >
oaks <0437 >allown > and poplars <3839 libneh > and elms <0424
>elah >, because <3588 kiy > the shadow <6738 tsel > thereof
[is] good <2896 towb >: therefore your daughters <1121 ben >
shall commit <2181 zanah > whoredom <2181 zanah >, and your
spouses <3618 kallah > shall commit <5003 na>aph > adultery

14 I will not punish <6485 paqad > your daughters <1121 ben >
when <3588 kiy > they commit <2181 zanah > whoredom <2181 zanah
>, nor your spouses <3618 kallah > when <3588 kiy > they commit
<5003 na>aph > adultery <5003 na>aph >: for themselves <1992 hem
> are separated <6504 parad > with whores <2181 zanah >, and
they sacrifice <2076 zabach > with harlots <6948 q@deshah >:
therefore the people <5971 <am > [that] doth not understand
<0995 biyn > shall fall <3832 labat >.

15 Though <0518 >im > thou, Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, play the
harlot <2181 zanah >, [yet] let not Judah <3063 Y@huwdah >
offend <0816 >asham >; and come <0935 bow> > not ye unto Gilgal
<1537 Gilgal >, neither <0408 >al > go <5927 <alah > ye up to
Bethaven <1007 Beyth >Aven >, nor <0408 >al > swear <7650 shaba<
>, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > liveth <2416 chay >.

16 For Israel <3478 Yisra>el > slideth <5637 carar > back <5637
carar > as a backsliding <5637 carar > heifer <6510 parah >: now
<6258 <attah > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > will feed <7462 ra<ah >
them as a lamb <3532 kebes > in a large <4800 merchab > place.

17 Ephraim <0669 >Ephrayim > [is] joined <2266 chabar > to
idols <6091 <atsab >: let him alone.

18 Their drink <5435 cobe> > is sour <5493 cuwr >: they have
committed <2181 zanah > whoredom <2181 zanah > continually: her
rulers <4043 magen > [with] shame <7036 qalown > do love <0157
>ahab >, Give <3051 yahab > ye.

19 The wind <7307 ruwach > hath bound <6887 tsarar > her up in
her wings <3671 kanaph >, and they shall be ashamed < 0954 buwsh
> because of their sacrifices <2077 zebach >.

Hosea 5

1. Hear <8085 shama< > ye this <2063 zo>th >, O priests <3548
kohen >; and hearken <7181 qashab >, ye house <1004 bayith > of
Israel <3478 Yisra>el >; and give ye ear <0238 > azan >, O house
<1004 bayith > of the king <4428 melek >; for judgment <4941
mishpat > [is] toward you, because <3588 kiy > ye have been
<1961 hayah > a snare <6341 pach > on Mizpah <4709 Mitspah >,
and a net <7568 resheth > spread <6566 paras > upon Tabor <8396
Tabowr >.

2 And the revolters <7846 set > are profound <6009 < amaq > to
make slaughter <7819 shachat >, though I [have been] a rebuker

3 I know <3045 yada< > Ephraim <0669 >Ephrayim >, and Israel
<3478 Yisra>el > is not hid <3582 kachad > from me: for now, O
Ephraim <0669 >Ephrayim >, thou committest <2181 zanah >
whoredom <2181 zanah >, [and] Israel <3478 Yisra>el > is defiled

4 They will not frame <5414 nathan > their doings <4611 ma<alal
> to turn <7725 shuwb > unto their God <0430 > elohiym >: for the

5 And the pride <1347 ga>own > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > doth
testify <6030 <anah > to his face <6440 paniym >: therefore
shall Israel <3478 Yisra>el > and Ephraim <0669 > Ephrayim > fall
<3782 kashal > in their iniquity <5771 <avon >; Judah <3063

6 They shall go <3212 yalak > with their flocks <6629 tso>n >
and with their herds <1241 baqar > to seek <1245 baqash > the
LORD <3068 Y@hovah >; but they shall not find <4672 matsa> >
[him]; he hath withdrawn <2502 chalats > himself from them.

7 They have dealt treacherously <0898 bagad > against the LORD

9 Ephraim <0669 >Ephrayim > shall be desolate <8047 shammah >
in the day <3117 yowm > of rebuke <8433 towkechah >: among the
tribes <7626 shebet > of Israel <3478 Yisra>el > have I made
known <3045 yada< > that which shall surely <0539 > aman > be.

10 The princes <8269 sar > of Judah <3063 Y@huwdah > were like
them that remove <5253 nacag > the bound <1366 g@buwl >:
