Galatians 1

with me, unto the churches <1577-ekklesia-> of Galatia < 1053-

3 Grace <5485-charis-> [be] to you and peace <1515- eirene->

7 Which <3739-hos-> is not another <0243-allos->; but there be
some <5100-tis-> that trouble <5015-tarasso-> you, and would

8 But though <1437-ean-> we, or <2228-e-> an angel <0032-
aggelos-> from heaven <3772-ouranos->, preach <2097- euaggelizo->
any other gospel <2097-euaggelizo-> unto you than <3844- para->
that which <3739-hos-> we have preached <2097-euaggelizo- > unto
you, let him be accursed <0331-anathema->.



9 As we said <4280-proereo-> before <4280-proereo->, so <2532-
kai-> say <3004-lego-> I now <0737-arti-> again <3825-palin->,
If <1487-ei-> any <1536-ei tis-> [man] preach < 2097-euaggelizo->
any <1536-ei tis-> other gospel <2097-euaggelizo-> unto you than
<3844-para-> that ye have received <3880-paralambano-> , let him
be accursed <0331-anathema->.



10. For do I now <0737-arti-> persuade <3982-peitho-> men <0444-
anthropos->, or <2228-e-> God <2316-theos->? or <2228-e-> do I
seek <2212-zeteo-> to please <0700-aresko-> men < 0444-anthropos-
>? for if <1487-ei-> I yet <2089-eti-> pleased < 0700-aresko->
men <0444-anthropos->, I should not be the servant <1401- doulos-

11 But I certify <1107-gnorizo-> you, brethren <0080- adephos->,
that the gospel <2098-euaggelion-> which <3588-ho-> was preached
<2097-euaggelizo-> of me is not after <2596-kata-> man <0444-

12 For I neither <3761-oude-> received <3880- paralambano-> it
of man <0444-anthropos->, neither <3777-oute-> was I taught
<1321-didasko-> [it], but by the revelation <0602- apokalupsis->

13 For ye have heard <0191-akouo-> of my conversation < 0391-
anastrophe-> in time <4218-pote-> past in the Jews < 2454-

14 And profited <4298-prokopto-> in the Jews <2454- Ioudaismos-

Jerusalem <2414-Hierosoluma-> to them which were apostles <0652-

into <1519-eis-> Arabia <0688-Arabia->, and returned <5290-

years <2094-etos-> I went <0424-anerchomai-> up to Jerusalem
<2414-Hierosoluma-> to see <2477-historeo-> Peter < 4074-Petros->,
and abode <1961-epimeno-> with him fifteen <1178- dekapente->

saw <1492-eido-> I none <3756-ou->, save <1508-ei me-> James

23 But they had heard <0191-akouo-> only <3440-monon- >, That he

Galatians 2



1. Then <1899-epeita-> fourteen <1180-dekatessares-> years
<2094-etos-> after <1223-dia-> I went <0305- anabaino-> up again
<3825-palin-> to Jerusalem <2414-Hierosoluma-> with Barnabas
<0921-Barnabas->, and took <4838-sumparalambano-> Titus <5103-

2 And I went <0305-anabaino-> up by revelation <0602-
apokalupsis->, and communicated <0394-anatithemai-> unto them
that gospel <2098-euaggelion-> which <3739-hos-> I preach <2784-

brethren <5569-pseudadelphos-> unawares <3920- pareisaktos->

pareiserchomai-> in privily <3922-pareiserchomai-> to spy <2684-

7 But contrariwise <5121-tounantion->, when they saw < 1492-eido-
> that the gospel <2098-euaggelion-> of the uncircumcision <0203-
akrobustia-> was committed <4100-pisteuo-> unto me, as [the
gospel] of the circumcision <4061-peritome-> [was] unto Peter

8 (For he that wrought <1754-energeo-> effectually < 1754-
energeo-> in Peter <4074-Petros-> to the apostleship < 0651-
apostole-> of the circumcision <4061-peritome->, the same <2532-
kai-> was mighty <1754-energeo-> in me toward <1519- eis-> the
Gentiles <1484-ethnos->:)



9 And when James <2385-Iakobos->, Cephas <2786-Kephas- >, and
John <2491-Ioannes->, who <3588-ho-> seemed <1380- dokeo-> to be
pillars <4769-stulos->, perceived <1097-ginosko-> the grace
<5485-charis-> that was given <1325-didomi-> unto me, they gave
<1325-didomi-> to me and Barnabas <0921-Barnabas-> the right
<1188-dexios-> hands of fellowship <2842-koinonia->; that we
[should go] unto the heathen <1484-ethnos->, and they unto the
circumcision <4061-peritome->.



10 Only <3440-monon-> [they would] that we should remember
<3421-mnemoneuo-> the poor <4434-ptochos->; the same <5124-touto-
> which <3739-hos-> I also <2532-kai-> was forward <4704-
spoudazo-> to do <4160-poieo->.



11. But when <3753-hote-> Peter <4074-Petros-> was come <2064-
erchomai-> to Antioch <0490-Antiocheia->, I withstood <0436-
anthistemi-> him to the face <4383-prosopon->, because <3754-
hoti-> he was to be blamed <2607-kataginosko->.



12 For before <4253-pro-> that certain <5100-tis-> came <2064-
erchomai-> from James <2385-Iakobos->, he did eat < 4906-
sunesthio-> with the Gentiles <1484-ethnos->: but when <3753-
hote-> they were come <2064-erchomai->, he withdrew < 5288-
hupostello-> and separated <0873-aphorizo-> himself < 1438-
heautou->, fearing <5399-phobeo-> them which were of the
circumcision <4061-peritome->.



13 And the other <3062-loipoy-> Jews <2453-Ioudaios->
dissembled <4942-sunupokrinomai-> likewise <2532-kai-> with him;
insomuch <5620-hoste-> that Barnabas <0921-Barnabas-> also <2532-
kai-> was carried <4879-sunapago-> away <4879- sunapago-> with
their dissimulation <5272-hupokrisis->.



14 But when <3753-hote-> I saw <1492-eido-> that they walked
<3716-orthopodeo-> not uprightly <3716-orthopodeo-> according
<4314-pros-> to the truth <0225-aletheia-> of the gospel <2098-
euaggelion->, I said <2036-epo-> unto Peter <4074- Petros->
before <1715-emprosthen-> [them] all <3956-pas->, If <1487-ei->
thou, being <5225-huparcho-> a Jew <2453-Ioudaios->, livest
<2198-zao-> after the manner <1483-ethnikos-> of Gentiles <1483-

15 We [who are] Jews <2453-Ioudaios-> by nature <5449- phusis->,
and not sinners <0268-hamartolos-> of the Gentiles <1484- ethnos-
>,



16 Knowing <1492-eido-> that a man <0444-anthropos-> is not
justified <1344-dikaioo-> by the works <2041-ergon-> of the law
<3551-nomos->, but by the faith <4102-pistis-> of Jesus <2424-
Iesous-> Christ <5547-Christos->, even <2532-kai-> we have
believed <4100-pisteuo-> in Jesus <2424-Iesous-> Christ <5547-
Christos->, that we might be justified <1344-dikaioo-> by the
faith <4102-pistis-> of Christ <5547-Christos->, and not by the
works <2041-ergon-> of the law <3551-nomos->: for by the works
<2041-ergon-> of the law <3551-nomos-> shall no < 3956-pas->
flesh <4561-sarx-> be justified <1344-dikaioo->.



17 But if <1487-ei->, while we seek <2212-zeteo-> to be
justified <1344-dikaioo-> by Christ <5547-Christos->, we
ourselves also <2532-kai-> are found <2147-heurisko-> sinners
<0268-hamartolos->, [is] therefore <0686-ara-> Christ <5547-
Christos-> the minister <1249-diakonos-> of sin <0266- hamartia-
>? God <1096-ginomai-> forbid <1096-ginomai->.



18 For if <1487-ei-> I build <3618-oikodomeo-> again <3825-
palin-> the things which <3739-hos-> I destroyed < 2647-kataluo->,
I make <4921-sunistao-> myself <1683-emautou-> a transgressor
<3848-parabates->.



19 For I through <1223-dia-> the law <3551-nomos-> am dead
<0599-apothnesko-> to the law <3551-nomos->, that I might live
<2198-zao-> unto God <2316-theos->.



20 I am crucified <4957-sustauroo-> with Christ <5547- Christos-
>: nevertheless <1161-de-> I live <2198-zao->; yet <3765-ouketi-
> not I, but Christ <5547-Christos-> liveth <2198-zao- > in me:
and the life which <3739-hos-> I now <3568-nun-> live <2198-zao-
> in the flesh <4561-sarx-> I live <2198-zao-> by the faith

21 I do not frustrate <0114-atheteo-> the grace <5485- charis->

Christ <5547-Christos-> is dead <0599-apothnesko-> in vain <1432-
dorean->.



Galatians 3



1. O foolish <0453-anoetos-> Galatians <1052-Galates- >, who
<5101-tis-> hath bewitched <0940-baskaino-> you, that ye should
not obey <3982-peitho-> the truth <0225-aletheia->, before <2596-
kata-> whose <3739-hos-> eyes <3788-ophthalmos-> Jesus <2424-
Iesous-> Christ <5547-Christos-> hath been evidently < 4270-

4 Have ye suffered <3958-pascho-> so <5118-tosoutos-> many

5 He therefore <3767-oun-> that ministereth <2023- epichoregeo->
to you the Spirit <4151-pneuma->, and worketh <1754- energeo->

the works <2041-ergon-> of the law <3551-nomos->, or <2228-e->

6. Even <2531-kathos-> as Abraham <0011-Abraam-> believed <4100-
pisteuo-> God <2316-theos->, and it was accounted < 3049-
logizomai-> to him for righteousness <1343-dikaiosune->.



7 Know <1097-ginosko-> ye therefore <0686-ara-> that they which
are of faith <4102-pistis->, the same <3778-houtos-> are the
children <5207-huios-> of Abraham <11>.



8 And the scripture <1124-graphe->, foreseeing <4275- proeido->
that God <2316-theos-> would justify <1344-dikaioo-> the heathen
<1484-ethnos-> through <1537-ek-> faith <4102- pistis->, preached
<4283-proeuaggelizomai-> before <4283-proeuaggelizomai- > the
gospel <4283-proeuaggelizomai-> unto Abraham <11>, [saying], In
thee shall all <3956-pas-> nations <1484-ethnos-> be blessed
<1757-eneulogeo->.



9 So <5620-hoste-> then they which be of faith <4102- pistis->
are blessed <2127-eulogeo-> with faithful <4103-pistos- > Abraham
<11>.



10 For as many <3745-hosos-> as are of the works <2041- ergon->
of the law <3551-nomos-> are under <5259-hupo-> the curse <2671-
katara->: for it is written <1125-grapho->, Cursed < 1944-
epikataratos-> [is] every <3956-pas-> one that continueth <1696-
emmeno-> not in all <3956-pas-> things which <3588-ho- > are
written <1125-grapho-> in the book <0975-biblion-> of the law
<3551-nomos-> to do <4160-poieo-> them.



11 But that no <3762-oudeis-> man <3762-oudeis-> is justified
<1344-dikaioo-> by the law <3551-nomos-> in the sight <3844-para-
> of God <2316-theos->, [it is] evident <1212-delos- >: for, The
just <1342-dikaios-> shall live <2198-zao-> by faith <4102-
pistis->.



12 And the law <3551-nomos-> is not of faith <4102- pistis->:
but, The man <0444-anthropos-> that doeth <4160-poieo- > them
shall live <2198-zao-> in them.



13 Christ <5547-Christos-> hath redeemed <1805- exagorazo-> us
from the curse <2671-katara-> of the law <3551-nomos-> , being
made <1096-ginomai-> a curse <2671-katara-> for us: for it is
written <1125-grapho->, Cursed <1944-epikataratos-> [is] every
<3956-pas-> one that hangeth <2910-kremannumi-> on <1909-epi-> a
tree <3586-xulon->:



14 That the blessing <2129-eulogia-> of Abraham <0011- Abraam-
>might come <1096-ginomai-> on <1519-eis-> the Gentiles <1484-
ethnos-> through <1722-en-> Jesus <2424-Iesous-> Christ <5547-
Christos->; that we might receive <2983-lambano-> the promise
<1860-epaggelia-> of the Spirit <4151-pneuma-> through <1223-dia-
> faith <4102-pistis->.



15 Brethren <0080-adephos->, I speak <3004-lego-> after <2596-
kata-> the manner of men <0444-anthropos->; Though < 3676-homos->
[it be] but a man's <0444-anthropos-> covenant <1242- diatheke->,
yet [if it be] confirmed <2964-kuroo->, no <3762-oudeis- > man
<3762-oudeis-> disannulleth <0114-atheteo->, or < 2228-e-> addeth
<1928-epidiatassomai-> thereto <1928-epidiatassomai->.



16 Now <1161-de-> to Abraham <0011-Abraam->and his seed <4690-
sperma-> were the promises <1860-epaggelia-> made < 4483-rheo->.
He saith <3004-lego-> not, And to seeds <4690-sperma-> , as of
many <4183-polus->; but as of one <1520-heis->, And to thy seed
<4690-sperma->, which <3739-hos-> is Christ <5547- Christos->.



17 And this <5124-touto-> I say <3004-lego->, [that] the
covenant <1242-diatheke->, that was confirmed <4300- prokuroo->
before <4300-prokuroo-> of God <2316-theos-> in Christ <5547-
Christos->, the law <3551-nomos->, which was four < 5071-
tetrakosioi-> hundred <5071-tetrakosioi-> and thirty < 5144-
triakonta-> years <2094-etos-> after <3326-meta->, cannot <3756-
ou-> disannul <0208-akuroo->, that it should make < 2673-katargeo-
> the promise <1860-epaggelia-> of none <0208-akuroo- > effect
<2673-katargeo->.



18 For if <1487-ei-> the inheritance <2817-kleronomia- > [be] of
the law <3551-nomos->, [it is] no <3765-ouketi-> more <2089-eti-
> of promise <1860-epaggelia->: but God <2316-theos- > gave <5483-
charizomai-> [it] to Abraham <0011-Abraam->by promise <1860-
epaggelia->.



19. Wherefore <5101-tis-> then <3767-oun-> [serveth] the law
<3551-nomos->? It was added <4369-prostithemi-> because <5484-
charin-> of transgressions <3847-parabasis->, till < 3757-hou->
the seed <4690-sperma-> should come <2064-erchomai-> to whom
<3739-hos-> the promise <1861-epaggello-> was made <1861-
epaggello->; [and it was] ordained <1299-diatasso-> by angels
<0032-aggelos-> in the hand <5495-cheir-> of a mediator <3316-
mesites->.



20 Now <1161-de-> a mediator <3316-mesites-> is not [a
mediator] of one <1520-heis->, but God <2316-theos-> is one
<1520-heis->.



21 [Is] the law <3551-nomos-> then <3767-oun-> against <2596-
kata-> the promises <1860-epaggelia-> of God <2316- theos->? God
<1096-ginomai-> forbid <1096-ginomai->: for if < 1487-ei-> there
had been a law <3551-nomos-> given <1325-didomi-> which <3588-ho-
> could <1410-dunamai-> have given <2227-zoopoieo-> life <2227-
zoopoieo->, verily <3689-ontos-> righteousness <1343- dikaiosune-
> should have been <2258-en-> by the law <3551-nomos- >.



22 But the scripture <1124-graphe-> hath concluded < 4788-
sugkleio-> all <3956-pas-> under <5259-hupo-> sin <0266-hamartia-
>, that the promise <1860-epaggelia-> by faith <4102- pistis-> of
Jesus <2424-Iesous-> Christ <5547-Christos-> might be given
<1325-didomi-> to them that believe <4100-pisteuo->.



23 But before <4253-pro-> faith <4102-pistis-> came <2064-
erchomai->, we were kept <5432-phroureo-> under <5259- hupo-> the
law <3551-nomos->, shut <4788-sugkleio-> up unto the faith <4102-
pistis-> which should <3195-mello-> afterwards be revealed <0601-
apokalupto->.



24 Wherefore <5620-hoste-> the law <3551-nomos-> was our
schoolmaster <3807-paidagogos-> [to bring us] unto Christ <5547-
Christos->, that we might be justified <1344-dikaioo-> by faith
<4102-pistis->.



25 But after that faith <4102-pistis-> is come <2064- erchomai->,
we are no <3765-ouketi-> longer <2089-eti-> under <5259-hupo->
a schoolmaster <3807-paidagogos->.



26 For ye are all <3956-pas-> the children <5207-huios- > of God
<2316-theos-> by faith <4102-pistis-> in Christ < 5547-Christos->
Jesus <2424-Iesous->.



27 For as many <3745-hosos-> of you as have been baptized <0907-
baptizo-> into <1519-eis-> Christ <5547-Christos-> have put
