Ephesians 1

1. Paul <3972>, an apostle <0652> of Jesus < 2424> Christ <5547>
by the will <2307> of God <2316>, to the saints < 0040> which
<3588> are at <1722> Ephesus <2181>, and to the faithful <4103>
in Christ <5547> Jesus <2424>:

2 Grace <5485> [be] to you, and peace <1515>, from God <2316>
our Father <3962>, and [from] the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424>
Christ <5547>.

3. Blessed <2128> [be] the God <2316> and Father < 3962> of our
Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>, who < 3588> hath blessed
<2127> us with all <3956> spiritual <4152> blessings <2129> in
heavenly <2032> [places] in Christ <5547>:

4 According <2531> as he hath chosen <1586> us in him before
<4253> the foundation <2602> of the world <2889> , that we should
be holy <0040> and without <0299> blame <0299> before <2714> him
in love <0026>:

5 Having predestinated <4309> us unto the adoption < 5206> of
children <5206> by Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> to himself <0848>,
according <2596> to the good pleasure <2107> of his will <2307>,

6 To the praise <1868> of the glory <1391> of his grace <5485>,
wherein <3757> he hath made <5487> us accepted < 5487> in the
beloved <0025>.

7 In whom <3739> we have <2192> redemption < 0629> through
<1223> his blood <0129>, the forgiveness <0859> of sins <3900>,
according <2596> to the riches <4149> of his grace <5485>;

8 Wherein <3757> he hath abounded <4052> toward < 1519> us in
all <3956> wisdom <4678> and prudence <5428>;

9 Having made <1107> known <1107> unto us the mystery <3466>
of his will <2307>, according <2596> to his good pleasure <2107>
which <3739> he hath purposed <4388> in himself < 0848>:

10 That in the dispensation <3622> of the fulness < 4138> of
times <2540> he might gather <0346> together < 0346> in one all
<3956> things in Christ <5547>, both <5037> which <3588> are in
heaven <3772>, and which <3588> are on <1909> earth <1093>;
[even] in him:

11 In whom <3739> also <2532> we have obtained < 2820> an
inheritance <2820>, being predestinated <4309> according <2596>
to the purpose <4286> of him who worketh <1754> all <3956>
things after <2596> the counsel <1012> of his own < 0848> will

12 That we should be to the praise <1868> of his glory <1391>,

13 In whom <3739> ye also <2532> [trusted], after that ye
heard <0191> the word <4487> of truth <0225>, the gospel <2098>

14 Which <3739> is the earnest <0728> of our inheritance
<2817> until <1519> the redemption <0629> of the purchased
<4047> possession <4047>, unto the praise <1868> of his glory

15. Wherefore <5124> I also <2504>, after I heard <0191> of
your <5209> faith <4102> in the Lord <2962> Jesus <2424>, and
love <0026> unto all <3956> the saints <0040>,

16 Cease <3973> not to give thanks <2168> for you, making
<4160> mention <3417> of you in my prayers < 4335>;

17 That the God <2316> of our Lord <2962> Jesus < 2424> Christ
<5547>, the Father <3962> of glory <1391>, may give <1325> unto
you the spirit <4151> of wisdom <4678> and revelation <0602> in
the knowledge <1922> of him:

18 The eyes <3788> of your <5216> understanding < 1271> being
enlightened <5461>; that ye may know <1492> what < 5101> is the
hope <1680> of his calling <2821>, and what < 5101> the riches
<4149> of the glory <1391> of his inheritance < 2817> in the
saints <0040>,

19 And what <5101> [is] the exceeding <5235> greatness <3174>
of his power <1411> to us-ward <2248> who <3588> believe <4100>,
according <2596> to the working <1753> of his mighty <2479>
power <2904>,

20 Which <3739> he wrought <1754> in Christ < 5547>, when he
raised <1453> him from the dead <3498>, and set < 2523> [him] at
<1722> his own <0848> right <1188> hand in the heavenly <2032>
[places],

21 Far <5231> above <5231> all <3956> principality <0746>, and
power <1849>, and might <1411>, and dominion < 2963>, and every
<3956> name <3686> that is named <3687>, not only <3440> in this
<3588> world <0165>, but also <2532> in that which is to come
<3195>:

22 And hath put <5293> all <3956> [things] under <5259> his
feet <4228>, and gave <1325> him [to be] the head < 2776> over
<5228> all <3956> [things] to the church <1577>,

23 Which <3748> is his body <4983>, the fulness < 4138> of him
that filleth <4137> all <3956> in all <3956>.

Ephesians 2

1. And you [hath he quickened], who were dead <3498> in
trespasses <3900> and sins <0266>;

2 Wherein <3757> in time <4218> past ye walked < 4043>
according <2596> to the course <0165> of this < 5127> world
<2889>, according <2596> to the prince <0758> of the power
<1849> of the air <0109>, the spirit <4151> that now <3568>
worketh <1754> in the children <5207> of disobedience <0543>:

3 Among <1722> whom <3739> also <2532> we all <3956> had our
conversation <0390> in times <4218> past in the lusts <1939> of
our flesh <4561>, fulfilling <4160> the desires < 2307> of the
flesh <4561> and of the mind <1271>; and were by nature <5449>
the children <5043> of wrath <3709>, even <2532> as others
<3062>.

4. But God <2316>, who is rich <4145> in mercy < 1656>, for his
great <4183> love <0026> wherewith <3739> he loved <0025> us,

5 Even <2532> when we were dead <3498> in sins < 3900>, hath
quickened <4806> us together <4806> with Christ < 5547>, (by
grace <5485> ye are saved <4982>;)

6 And hath raised <4891> [us] up together <4891>, and made
<4776> [us] sit <4776> together <4776> in heavenly <2032>
[places] in Christ <5547> Jesus <2424>:

7 That in the ages <0165> to come <1904> he might shew <1731>
the exceeding <5235> riches <4149> of his grace < 5485> in [his]
kindness <5544> toward <1909> us through <1722> Christ <5547>
Jesus <2424>.

8 For by grace <5485> are ye saved <4982> through <1223> faith
<4102>; and that not of yourselves <5216>: [it is] the gift
<1435> of God <2316>:

9 Not of works <2041>, lest <3361> any <5100> man should boast
<2744>.

10 For we are his workmanship <4161>, created <2936> in Christ
<5547> Jesus <2424> unto good <0018> works < 2041>, which <3739>
God <2316> hath before <4282> ordained <4282> that we should
walk <4043> in them.

11. Wherefore <1352> remember <3421>, that ye [being] in time
<4218> past Gentiles <1484> in the flesh <4561>, who <3588> are
called <3004> Uncircumcision <0203> by that which < 3588> is
called <3004> the Circumcision <4061> in the flesh <4561> made
<5499> by hands <5499>;

12 That at <1722> that time <2540> ye were without <5565>
Christ <5547>, being aliens <0526> from the commonwealth <4174>
of Israel <2474>, and strangers <3581> from the covenants <1242>
of promise <1860>, having <2192> no <3361> hope <1680>, and
without <0112> God <0112> in the world <2889>:

13 But now <3570> in Christ <5547> Jesus < 2424> ye who <3739>
sometimes <4218> were far <3112> off <3112> are made <1096> nigh
<1451> by the blood <0129> of Christ <5547>.

14. For he is our peace <1515>, who <3739> hath made <4160>
both <0297> one <1520>, and hath broken <3089> down the middle
<3320> wall of partition <5418> [between us];

15 Having abolished <2673> in his flesh <4561> the enmity
<2189>, [even] the law <3551> of commandments < 1785> [contained]
in ordinances <1378>; for to make <2936> in himself <1438> of
twain <1417> one <1520> new <2537> man < 0444>, [so] making
<4160> peace <1515>;

16 And that he might reconcile <0604> both <0297> unto God
<2316> in one <1520> body <4983> by the cross <4716>, having
slain <0615> the enmity <2189> thereby <0846>:

17 And came <2064> and preached <2097> peace < 1515> to you
which <3588> were afar <3112> off, and to them that were nigh
<1451>.

18 For through <1223> him we both <0297> have < 2192> access
<4318> by one <1520> Spirit <4151> unto the Father <3962>.

19 Now <3767> therefore <0686> ye are no < 3765> more <3765>
strangers <3581> and foreigners <3941>, but fellowcitizens
<4847> with the saints <0040>, and of the household <3609> of
God <2316>;

20 And are built <2026> upon the foundation <2310> of the
apostles <0652> and prophets <4396>, Jesus < 2424> Christ <5547>
himself <0848> being <5607> the chief <0204> corner <0204>
[stone];

21 In whom <3739> all <3956> the building < 3619> fitly <4883>
framed <4883> together <4883> groweth <0837> unto an holy <0040>
temple <3485> in the Lord <2962>:

22 In whom <3739> ye also <2532> are builded < 4925> together
<4925> for an habitation <2732> of God <2316> through <1722> the
Spirit <4151>.

Ephesians 3

1. For this <5127> cause <5484> I Paul <3972>, the prisoner
<1198> of Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> for you Gentiles <1484>,

2 If <1489> ye have heard <0191> of the dispensation <3622> of
the grace <5485> of God <2316> which <3588> is given <1325> me
to you-ward <5209>:

3 How that by revelation <0602> he made <1107> known <1107>
unto me the mystery <3466>; (as I wrote <4270> afore <4270> in
few <3641> words,

4 Whereby <3739>, when ye read <0314>, ye may < 1410>
understand <3539> my knowledge <4907> in the mystery <3466> of
Christ <5547>)

5 Which <3739> in other <2087> ages <1074> was not made <1107>
known <1107> unto the sons <5207> of men <0444>, as it is now
<3568> revealed <0601> unto his holy <0040> apostles <0652> and
prophets <4396> by the Spirit <4151>;

6 That the Gentiles <1484> should be fellowheirs < 4789>, and
of the same <4954> body <4954>, and partakers < 4830> of his
promise <1860> in Christ <5547> by the gospel < 2098>:

7 Whereof <3739> I was made <1096> a minister < 1249>,
according <2596> to the gift <1431> of the grace < 5485> of God
<2316> given <1325> unto me by the effectual < 1753> working
<1753> of his power <1411>.

8 Unto me, who am less <1647> than the least <1647> of all
<3956> saints <0040>, is this <3778> grace < 5485> given <1325>,
that I should preach <2097> among <1722> the Gentiles <1484> the
unsearchable <0421> riches <4149> of Christ < 5547>;

9 And to make <5461> all <3956> [men] see < 5461> what <5101>
[is] the fellowship <2842> of the mystery <3466>, which <3588>
from the beginning of the world <0165> hath been hid < 0613> in
God <2316>, who <3588> created <2936> all < 3956> things by Jesus
<2424> Christ <5547>:

10 To the intent <2443> that now <3568> unto the
principalities <0746> and powers <1849> in heavenly <2032>
[places] might be known <1107> by the church <1577> the manifold
<4182> wisdom <4678> of God <2316>,

11 According <2596> to the eternal <0165> purpose <4286> which
<3739> he purposed <4160> in Christ <5547> Jesus <2424> our Lord
<2962>:

12 In whom <3739> we have <2192> boldness < 3954> and access
<4318> with confidence <4006> by the faith < 4102> of him.

13 Wherefore <1352> I desire <0154> that ye faint <1573> not
at <1722> my tribulations <2347> for you, which < 3748> is your
glory <1391>.

14. For this <5127> cause <5484> I bow <2578> my knees <1119>
unto the Father <3962> of our Lord <2962> Jesus < 2424> Christ
<5547>,

15 Of whom <3739> the whole <3956> family < 3965> in heaven
<3772> and earth <1093> is named <3687>,

16 That he would grant <1325> you, according <2596> to the
riches <4149> of his glory <1391>, to be strengthened <2901>
with might <1411> by his Spirit <4151> in the inner <2080> man
<0444>;

17 That Christ <5547> may dwell <2730> in your < 5216> hearts
<2588> by faith <4102>; that ye, being rooted < 4492> and
grounded <2311> in love <0026>,

18 May be able <1840> to comprehend <2638> with all <3956>
saints <0040> what <5101> [is] the breadth < 4114>, and length
<3372>, and depth <0899>, and height <5311>;

19 And to know <1097> the love <0026> of Christ < 5547>, which
passeth <5235> knowledge <1108>, that ye might be filled <4137>
with all <3956> the fulness <4138> of God <2316> .

20 Now <1161> unto him that is able <1410> to do <4160>
exceeding <5228> abundantly <4053> above <5228> all <3956> that
we ask <0154> or <2228> think <3539>, according <2596> to the
power <1411> that worketh <1754> in us,

21 Unto him [be] glory <1391> in the church <1577> by Christ
<5547> Jesus <2424> throughout <1519> all < 3956> ages <1074>,
world <0165> without end <0165>. Amen <0281>.

Ephesians 4

1. I therefore <3767>, the prisoner <1198> of the Lord <2962>,
beseech <3870> you that ye walk <4043> worthy < 0516> of the
vocation <2821> wherewith <3739> ye are called < 2564>,

2. With all <3956> lowliness <5012> and meekness < 4236>, with
longsuffering <3115>, forbearing <0430> one < 0240> another
<0240> in love <0026>;

3 Endeavouring <4704> to keep <5083> the unity < 1775> of the
Spirit <4151> in the bond <4886> of peace <1515> .

4 [There is] one <1520> body <4983>, and one < 1520> Spirit
<4151>, even <2532> as ye are called <2564> in one <3391> hope
<1680> of your <5216> calling <2821>;

5 One <1520> Lord <2962>, one <1520> faith <4102>, one <3391>
baptism <0908>,

6 One <1520> God <2316> and Father <3962> of all <3956>, who
<3588> [is] above <1909> all <3956>, and through <1223> all
<3956>, and in you all <3956>.

7 But unto every <1538> one <1520> of us is given <1325> grace
<5485> according <2596> to the measure <3358> of the gift <1431>
of Christ <5547>.

8 Wherefore <1352> he saith <3004>, When he ascended <0305> up
on <5311> high <5311>, he led <0162> captivity <0161> captive
<0162>, and gave <1325> gifts <1390> unto men <0444>.

9 (Now that he ascended <0305>, what <5101> is it but that he
also <2532> descended <2597> first <4412> into <1519> the lower
<2737> parts <3313> of the earth <1093>?

10 He that descended <2597> is the same also <2532> that
ascended <0305> up far <5231> above <5231> all <3956> heavens
<3772>, that he might fill <4137> all <3956> things.)

11 And he gave <1325> some <3588>, apostles < 0652>; and some
<3588>, prophets <4396>; and some <3588>, evangelists <2099>;
and some <3588>, pastors <4166> and teachers < 1320>;

12 For the perfecting <2677> of the saints <0040>, for the
work <2041> of the ministry <1248>, for the edifying <3619> of
the body <4983> of Christ <5547>:

13 Till <3360> we all <3956> come <2658> in the unity <1775>
of the faith <4102>, and of the knowledge <1922> of the Son
<5207> of God <2316>, unto a perfect <5046> man <0435>, unto the
measure <3358> of the stature <2244> of the fulness <4138> of
Christ <5547>:

14 That we [henceforth <3063>] be no <3371> more <2001>
children <3516>, tossed <2831> to and fro <2831> , and carried
<4064> about <4064> with every <3596> wind < 0417> of doctrine
<1319>, by the sleight <2940> of men <0444>, [and] cunning
craftiness <3834>, whereby <4314> they lie < 3180> in wait <3180>
to deceive <4106>;

15 But speaking <0226> the truth <0226> in love < 0026>, may
grow <0837> up into <1519> him in all <3956> things, which
<3739> is the head <2776>, [even] Christ <5547>:

16 From whom <3739> the whole <3956> body < 4983> fitly <4883>
joined <4883> together <4883> and compacted < 4822> by that which
every <3596> joint <0860> supplieth <2024>, according <2596> to
the effectual <1753> working <1753> in the measure <3358> of
every <1538> part <3313>, maketh <4160> increase <0838> of the
body <4983> unto the edifying <3619> of itself < 1438> in love
<0026>.

17. This <5124> I say <3004> therefore <3767>, and testify
<3143> in the Lord <2962>, that ye henceforth < 3371> walk <4043>
not as other <3062> Gentiles <1484> walk <4043>, in the vanity
<3153> of their mind <3563>,

18 Having the understanding <1271> darkened <4654>, being
<5607> alienated <0526> from the life <2222> of God <2316>
through <1223> the ignorance <0052> that is in them, because
<1223> of the blindness <4457> of their heart < 2588>:

19 Who <3748> being past <0524> feeling <0524> have given
<3860> themselves <1438> over <3860> unto lasciviousness <0766>,
to work <2039> all <3956> uncleanness <0167> with greediness
<4124>.

20 But ye have not so <3779> learned <3129> Christ <5547>;

21 If <1489> so <3779> be that ye have heard < 0191> him, and
have been taught <1321> by him, as the truth <0225> is in Jesus
<2424>:

22 That ye put <0659> off <0659> concerning < 2596> the former
<4387> conversation <0391> the old <3820> man <0444>, which
<3588> is corrupt <5351> according <2596> to the deceitful
<0539> lusts <1939>;

23 And be renewed <0365> in the spirit <4151> of your <5216>
mind <3563>;

24 And that ye put <1746> on <1746> the new < 2537> man <0444>,
which <3588> after <2596> God <2316> is created <2936> in
righteousness <1343> and true <0225> holiness < 3742>.

25 Wherefore <1352> putting <0659> away <0659> lying <5579>,
speak <2980> every <1538> man truth <0226> with his neighbour
<4139>: for we are members <3196> one <0240> of another <0240>.

26 Be ye angry <3710>, and sin <0264> not: let not the sun
<2246> go <1931> down <1931> upon your < 5216> wrath <3950>:

27 Neither <3383> give <1325> place <5117> to the devil <1228>.

28 Let him that stole <2813> steal <2813> no < 3371> more
<2001>: but rather <3123> let him labour <2872>, working <2038>
with [his] hands <5495> the thing which is good <0018> , that he
may have <2192> to give <3330> to him that needeth <5532>.

29 Let no <3361> corrupt <4550> communication < 3056> proceed
<1607> out of your <5216> mouth <4750>, but that which <1536> is
good <0018> to the use <5532> of edifying <3619> , that it may
minister <1325> grace <5485> unto the hearers < 0191>.

30 And grieve <3076> not the holy <0040> Spirit < 4151> of God
<2316>, whereby <3739> ye are sealed <4972> unto the day <2250>
of redemption <0629>.

31 Let all <3956> bitterness <4088>, and wrath < 2372>, and
anger <3709>, and clamour <2906>, and evil < 0988> speaking
<0988>, be put <0142> away from you, with all < 3956> malice
<2549>:

32 And be ye kind <5543> one <0240> to another < 0240>,
tenderhearted <2155>, forgiving <5483> one < 1438> another <1438>,
even <2532> as God <2316> for Christ's <5547> sake <1722> hath
forgiven <5483> you.

Ephesians 5

1. Be ye therefore <3767> followers <3402> of God <2316>, as
dear <0027> children <5043>;

2 And walk <4043> in love <0026>, as Christ < 5547> also <2532>
hath loved <0026> us, and hath given <3860> himself <1438> for
us an offering <4376> and a sacrifice <2378> to God <2316> for a
sweetsmelling <2175> savour <3744>.

3. But fornication <4202>, and all <3956> uncleanness <0167>,
or <2228> covetousness <4124>, let it not be once < 3366> named
<3687> among <1722> you, as becometh <4241> saints <0040>;

4 Neither <3756> filthiness <0151>, nor <2532> foolish <3473>
talking <3473>, nor <2228> jesting <2160>, which <3588> are not
convenient <0433>: but rather <3123> giving of thanks <2169>.

5 For this <5124> ye know <1097>, that no < 3756> whoremonger
<4205>, nor <2228> unclean <0169> person, nor <2228> covetous
<4123> man, who <3739> is an idolater <1496>, hath <2192> any
inheritance <2817> in the kingdom <0932> of Christ <5547> and of
God <2316>.

6 Let no <3367> man <3367> deceive <0538> you with vain <2756>
words <3056>: for because <1223> of these <5023> things cometh
<2064> the wrath <3709> of God <2316> upon the children <5207>
of disobedience <0543>.

7 Be not ye therefore <3767> partakers <4830> with them.

8 For ye were sometimes <4218> darkness <4655>, but now <3568>
[are ye] light <5457> in the Lord <2962>: walk < 4043> as
children <5043> of light <5457>:

9 (For the fruit <2590> of the Spirit <4151> [is] in all
<3956> goodness <0019> and righteousness <1343> and truth <0226>;
)

10 Proving <1381> what <5101> is acceptable < 2101> unto the
Lord <2962>.

11 And have no <3361> fellowship <4790> with the unfruitful
<0175> works <2041> of darkness <4655>, but rather <3123>
reprove <1651> [them].

12 For it is a shame <0149> even <2532> to speak <3004> of
those <3588> things which are done <1096> of them in secret
<2931>.

13 But all <3956> things that are reproved <1651> are made
<5319> manifest <5319> by the light <5457>: for whatsoever
<3956> doth make <5319> manifest <5319> is light <5457>.

14 Wherefore <1352> he saith <3004>, Awake < 1453> thou that
sleepest <2518>, and arise <0450> from the dead < 3498>, and
Christ <5547> shall give thee light <2017>.

15 See <0991> then <3767> that ye walk <4043> circumspectly
<0199>, not as fools <0781>, but as wise <4680>,

16 Redeeming <1805> the time <2540>, because < 3754> the days
<2250> are evil <4190>.

17 Wherefore <5124> be ye not unwise <0878>, but understanding
<4920> what <5101> the will <2307> of the Lord <2962> [is].

18 And be not drunk <3182> with wine <3631>, wherein <3757> is
excess <0810>; but be filled <4137> with the Spirit <4151>;

19 Speaking <2980> to yourselves <1438> in psalms <5568> and
hymns <5215> and spiritual <4152> songs <5603>, singing <0103>
and making <5567> melody <5567> in your <5216> heart <2588> to
the Lord <2962>;

20 Giving thanks <2168> always <3842> for all < 3956> things
unto God <2316> and the Father <3962> in the name < 3686> of our
Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>;

21. Submitting <5293> yourselves one <0240> to another <0240>
in the fear <5401> of God <2316>.

22 Wives <1135>, submit <5293> yourselves unto your <3588> own
<2398> husbands <0435>, as unto the Lord <2962>.

23 For the husband <0435> is the head <2776> of the wife
<1135>, even <2532> as Christ <5547> is the head <2776> of the
church <1577>: and he is the saviour <4990> of the body <4983>.

24 Therefore <0235> as the church <1577> is subject <5293>
unto Christ <5547>, so <3779> [let] the wives < 1135> [be] to
their own <2398> husbands <0435> in every <3956> thing.

25 Husbands <0435>, love <0025> your <1438> wives <1135>, even
<2531> as Christ <5547> also <2532> loved < 0025> the church
<1577>, and gave <3860> himself <1438> for it;

26 That he might sanctify <0037> and cleanse <2511> it with
the washing <3067> of water <5204> by the word < 4487>,

27 That he might present <3936> it to himself <1438> a
glorious <1741> church <1577>, not having <2192> spot <4696>, or
<2228> wrinkle <4512>, or <2228> any < 5100> such <5108> thing;
but that it should be holy <0040> and without <0299> blemish
<0299>.

28 So <3779> ought <3784> men <0435> to love <0025> their
wives <1135> as their own <1438> bodies <4983>. He that loveth
<0025> his wife <1135> loveth <0025> himself <1438>.

29 For no <3762> man <3762> ever <4218> yet hated <3404> his
own <1438> flesh <4561>; but nourisheth <1625> and cherisheth
<2282> it, even <2532> as the Lord <2962> the church <1577>:

30 For we are members <3196> of his body <4983>, of his flesh
<4561>, and of his bones <3747>.

31 For this <5127> cause <0873> shall a man < 0444> leave
<2641> his father <3962> and mother <3384>, and shall be joined
<4347> unto his wife <1135>, and they two <1417> shall be one
<3391> flesh <4561>.

32 This <5124> is a great <3173> mystery < 3466>: but I speak
<3004> concerning <1519> Christ <5547> and the church <1577>.

33 Nevertheless <4133> let every <1520> one of you in
particular <1520> so <3779> love <0025> his wife <1135> even

Ephesians 6

1. Children <5043>, obey <5219> your <5216> parents <1118> in
the Lord <2962>: for this <5124> is right <1342> .

2 Honour <5091> thy father <3962> and mother < 3384>; (which
<3748> is the first <4413> commandment <1785> with promise
<1860>;)

3 That it may be well <2095> with thee, and thou mayest live
<3118> long <2118> on <1909> the earth < 1093>.

4 And, ye fathers <3962>, provoke <3949> not your <5216>
children <5043> to wrath <3949>: but bring < 1625> them up in the
nurture <3809> and admonition <3559> of the Lord < 2962>.

5 Servants <1401>, be obedient <5219> to them that are [your]
masters <2962> according <2596> to the flesh < 4561>, with fear
<5401> and trembling <5156>, in singleness < 0572> of your <5216>
heart <2588>, as unto Christ <5547>;

6 Not with eyeservice <3787>, as menpleasers <0441>; but as
the servants <1401> of Christ <5547>, doing < 4160> the will
<2307> of God <2316> from the heart <5590>;

7 With good <2133> will <2133> doing <1398> service <1398>, as
to the Lord <2962>, and not to men <0444>:

8 Knowing <1492> that whatsoever <5100> good < 0018> thing any
<1538> man doeth <4160>, the same <3778> shall he receive <2865>
of the Lord <2962>, whether <1535> [he be] bond < 1401> or <1535>
free <1658>.

9 And, ye masters <2962>, do <4160> the same < 0846> things
unto them, forbearing <0447> threatening <0547>: knowing <1492>
that your <5216> Master <2962> also <2532> is in heaven <3772>;
neither <3756> is there respect <3382> of persons < 4382> with
him.

10. Finally <3063>, my brethren <0080>, be strong <1743> in the
Lord <2962>, and in the power <2904> of his might < 2479>.

11 Put <1746> on <1746> the whole armour < 3833> of God <2316>,
that ye may be able <1410> to stand <2476> against <4314> the
wiles <3180> of the devil <1228>.

12 For we wrestle <3823> not against <4314> flesh <4561> and
blood <0129>, but against <4314> principalities < 0746>, against
<4314> powers <1849>, against <4314> the rulers <2888> of the
darkness <4655> of this <5127> world <0165>, against <4314>
spiritual <4152> wickedness <4189> in high < 2032> [places].

13 Wherefore <5124> take <0353> unto you the whole armour
<3833> of God <2316>, that ye may be able <1410> to withstand
<0436> in the evil <4190> day <2250>, and having done <2716> all
<0537>, to stand <2476>.

14 Stand <2476> therefore <3767>, having your < 5216> loins
<3751> girt <4024> about <4024> with truth < 0226>, and having
<1746> on <1746> the breastplate <2382> of righteousness <1343>;

15 And your <3588> feet <4228> shod <5265> with the
preparation <2091> of the gospel <2098> of peace < 1515>;

16 Above <1909> all <3956>, taking <0353> the shield <2375> of
faith <4102>, wherewith <3739> ye shall be able < 1410> to quench
<4570> all <3956> the fiery <4448> darts < 0956> of the wicked
<4190>.

17 And take <1209> the helmet <4030> of salvation <4992>, and
the sword <3162> of the Spirit <4151>, which < 3739> is the word

18 Praying <4336> always <2540> with all < 3956> prayer <4335>
and supplication <1162> in the Spirit <4151>, and watching
<0069> thereunto <5124> with all <3956> perseverance <4343> and
supplication <1162> for all <3956> saints <0040> ;

19. And for me, that utterance <3056> may be given < 1325> unto
me, that I may open <0457> my mouth <4750> boldly < 3954>, to
make <1107> known <1107> the mystery <3466> of the gospel <2098>,

20 For which <3739> I am an ambassador <4243> in bonds <0254>:
that therein <0846> I may speak boldly <3955>, as I ought <1163>
to speak <2980>.

21 But that ye also <2532> may know <1492> my affairs <2596>,
[and] how <5101> I do <4238>, Tychicus <5190>, a beloved <0027>
brother <0080> and faithful <4103> minister < 1249> in the Lord
<2962>, shall make <1107> known <1107> to you all <3956> things:

22 Whom <3739> I have sent <3992> unto you for the same <0846>
purpose, that ye might know <1097> our affairs <4012>, and
[that] he might comfort <3870> your <5216> hearts < 2588>.

23 Peace <1515> [be] to the brethren <0080>, and love <0026>
with faith <4102>, from God <2316> the Father < 3962> and the
Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.

24 Grace <5485> [be] with all <3956> them that love <0025> our
Lord <2962> Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> in sincerity <0861>. Amen
