7 And to godliness <2150-eusebeia-> brotherly <5360-

8 For if these <5023-tauta-> things be in you, and abound <4121-

10 Wherefore <1352-dio-> the rather <3123-mallon->, brethren

12. Wherefore <1352-dio-> I will not be negligent <0272- ameleo-

remembrance <5179-tupos-> of these <5130-touton-> things, though

tabernacle <4638-skenoma->, to stir <1326-diegeiro-> you up by
putting <5279-hupomimnesko-> [you] in remembrance <5280-
hupomnesis->;

14 Knowing <1492-eido-> that shortly <5031-tachinos-> I must
put <0595-apothesis-> off <0595-apothesis-> [this < 3588-ho->] my
tabernacle <4638-skenoma->, even <2532-kai-> as our Lord <2962-
kurios-> Jesus <2424-Iesous-> Christ <5547-Christos- > hath

15 Moreover <2532-kai-> I will endeavour <4704-spoudazo- > that
ye may be able <2192-echo-> after <3326-meta-> my decease <1841-
exodos-> to have these <5130-touton-> things always < 1539-
hekastote-> in remembrance <3420-mneme->.

16. For we have not followed <1811-exakoloutheo-> cunningly
devised <4679-sophizo-> fables <3454-muthos->, when we made
<1107-gnorizo-> known <1107-gnorizo-> unto you the power <1411-
dunamis-> and coming <3952-parousia-> of our Lord < 2962-kurios->
Jesus <2424-Iesous-> Christ <5547-Christos->, but were

17 For he received <2983-lambano-> from God <2316-theos- > the
Father <3962-pater-> honour <5092-time-> and glory <1391-doxa->,

21 For the prophecy <4394-propheteia-> came <5342-phero- > not
in old <4218-pote-> time <4218-pote-> by the will < 2307-thelema-
> of man <0444-anthropos->: but holy <0040-hagios-> men <0444-
anthropos-> of God <2316-theos-> spake <2980-laleo- > [as they

1. But there were false <5578-pseudoprophetes-> prophets <5578-
pseudoprophetes-> also <2532-kai-> among <1722-en-> the people

pseudodidaskalos-> teachers <5572-pseudodidaskalos-> among <1722-

their pernicious <0684-apoleia-> ways <0684-apoleia->; by reason

blasphemeo-> of.

3. And through <1722-en-> covetousness <4124-pleonexia- > shall
they with feigned <4112-plastos-> words <3056-logos-> make <1710-
emporeuomai-> merchandise of you: whose <3739-hos-> judgment
<2917-krima-> now of a long time <1597-ekpalai-> lingereth <0691-
argeo-> not, and their damnation <0684-apoleia-> slumbereth

4 For if <1487-ei-> God <2316-theos-> spared < 5339-pheidomai->
not the angels <0032-aggelos-> that sinned <0264- hamartano->,
but cast <5020-tartaroo-> [them] down to hell <5020- tartaroo->,
and delivered <3860-paradidomi-> [them] into chains < 4577-seira-

judgment <2920-krisis->;

5 And spared <5339-pheidomai-> not the old <0744- archaios->
world <2889-kosmos->, but saved <5442-phulasso-> Noah <3575-Noe-

7. And delivered <4506-rhoumai-> just <1342-dikaios-> Lot <3091-
Lot->, vexed <2669-kataponeo-> with the filthy <0766- aselgeia->
conversation <0391-anastrophe-> of the wicked <0113- athesmos->:

8 (For that righteous <1342-dikaios-> man dwelling < 1460-
egkatoikeo-> among <1722-en-> them, in seeing <0990- blemma-> and
hearing <0189-akoe->, vexed <0928-basanizo-> [his] righteous
<1342-dikaios-> soul <5590-psuche-> from day <2250- hemera-> to

9 The Lord <2962-kurios-> knoweth <1492-eido-> how to deliver
<4506-rhoumai-> the godly <2152-eusebes-> out of temptations
<3986-peirasmos->, and to reserve <5083-tereo-> the unjust <0094-
adikos-> unto the day <2250-hemera-> of judgment < 2920-krisis->
to be punished <2849-kolazo->:

10. But chiefly <3122-malista-> them that walk <4198- poreuomai-
> after <3694-opiso-> the flesh <4561-sarx-> in the lust <1939-
epithumia-> of uncleanness <3394-miasmos->, and despise <2706-
kataphroneo-> government <2963-kuriotes->. Presumptuous <5113-
tolmetes-> [are they], selfwilled <0829-authades->, they are not
afraid <5141-tremo-> to speak <0987-blasphemeo-> evil <0987-
blasphemeo-> of dignities <1391-doxa->.

11 Whereas <3699-hopou-> angels <0032-aggelos->, which are
greater <3187-meizon-> in power <2479-ischus-> and might <1411-
dunamis->, bring <5342-phero-> not railing <0989- blasphemos->
accusation <2920-krisis-> against <2596-kata-> them before <3844-
para-> the Lord <2962-kurios->.

12 But these <3778-houtos->, as natural <5446-phusikos- > brute
<0249-alogos-> beasts <2226-zoon->, made <1080- gennao-> to be
taken <0259-halosis-> and destroyed <5356-phthora->, speak <0987-
blasphemeo-> evil <0987-blasphemeo-> of the things that they
understand <0050-agnoeo-> not; and shall utterly <2704-
katphtheiro-> perish <2704-katphtheiro-> in their own <0848-
hautou-> corruption <5356-phthora->;

13 And shall receive <2865-komizo-> the reward <3408- misthos->
of unrighteousness <0093-adikia->, [as] they that count < 2233-
hegeomai-> it pleasure <2237-hedone-> to riot <5172- truphe-> in
the day <2250-hemera-> time. Spots <4696-spilos-> [they are] and
blemishes <3470-momos->, sporting <1792-entruphao-> themselves
with their own <0848-hautou-> deceivings <0539-apate-> while

mestos-> of adultery <3428-moichalis->, and that cannot <0180-

15 Which have forsaken <2641-kataleipo-> the right < 2117-euthus-

planao->, following <1811-exakoloutheo-> the way < 3598-hodos->
of Balaam <0903-Balaam-> [the son] of Bosor <1007-Bosor- >, who
<3739-hos-> loved <0025-agapao-> the wages <3408- misthos-> of
unrighteousness <0093-adikia->;

16 But was rebuked <1649-elegxis-> for his iniquity < 3892-
paranomia->: the dumb <0880-aphonos-> ass <5268- hupozugion->
speaking <5350-phtheggomai-> with man's <0444-anthropos- > voice
<5456-phone-> forbad <2967-koluo-> the madness < 3913-paraphronia-
> of the prophet <4396-prophetes->.

17 These <3778-houtos-> are wells <4077-pege-> without <0504-
anudros-> water <0504-anudros->, clouds <3507-nephele- > that are
carried <1643-elauno-> with a tempest <2978-lailaps->; to whom
<3739-hos-> the mist <2217-zophos-> of darkness < 4655-skotos->
is reserved <5083-tereo-> for ever <0165-aion->.

18 For when they speak <5350-phtheggomai-> great <5246-
huperogkos-> swelling <5246-huperogkos-> [words] of vanity <3153-
mataiotes->, they allure <1185-deleazo-> through < 1722-en-> the
lusts <1939-epithumia-> of the flesh <4561-sarx->, [through
much] wantonness <0766-aselgeia->, those <3588-ho-> that were
clean <3689-ontos-> escaped <0668-apopheugo-> from them who live

19 While they promise <1861-epaggello-> them liberty < 1657-
eleutheria->, they themselves <0846-autos-> are the servants
<1401-doulos-> of corruption <5356-phthora->: for of whom <3739-
hos-> a man <5100-tis-> is overcome <2274-hettao->, of the same
<3778-houtos-> is he brought <1402-douloo-> in bondage <1402-
douloo->.

20 For if <1487-ei-> after they have escaped <0668- apopheugo->
the pollutions <3393-miasma-> of the world <2889-kosmos- >
through <1722-en-> the knowledge <1922-epignosis-> of the Lord
<2962-kurios-> and Saviour <4990-soter-> Jesus < 2424-Iesous->
Christ <5547-Christos->, they are again <3825-palin-> entangled

hettao->, the latter <2078-eschatos-> end <2078- eschatos-> is
worse <5501-cheiron-> with them than the beginning <4413- protos-
>.

21 For it had been <2258-en-> better <2909-kreitton-> for them
not to have known <1921-epiginosko-> the way <3598-hodos- > of
righteousness <1343-dikaiosune->, than <2228-e->, after they
have known <1921-epiginosko-> [it], to turn <1994- epistrepho->

22 But it is happened <4819-sumbaino-> unto them according to
the true <0227-alethes-> proverb <3942-paroimia->, The dog <2965-
kuon-> [is] turned <1994-epistrepho-> to his own < 2398-idios->
vomit <1829-exerama-> again <1994-epistrepho->; and the sow
<5300-hus-> that was washed <3068-louo-> to her wallowing <2946-
kulisma-> in the mire <1004-borboros->.

proton->, that there shall come <2064-erchomai-> in the last
<2078-eschatos-> days <2250-hemera-> scoffers < 1703-empaiktes->,
walking <4198-poreuomai-> after <2596-kata-> their own <2398-

4 And saying <3004-lego->, Where <4226-pou-> is the promise
<1860-epaggelia-> of his coming <3952-parousia->? for since
<3739-hos-> the fathers <3962-pater-> fell asleep < 2837-koimao->,

5 For this <5124-touto-> they willingly <2309-thelo-> are
ignorant <2990-lanthano-> of, that by the word <3056- logos-> of

ekpalai->, and the earth <1093-ge-> standing <4921- sunistao->
out of the water <5204-hudor-> and in the water <5204- hudor->:

6 Whereby <3739-hos-> the world <2889-kosmos-> that then <5119-
tote-> was, being overflowed <2626-katakluzo-> with water <5204-
hudor->, perished <0622-apollumi->:

7 But the heavens <3772-ouranos-> and the earth <1093- ge->,
which are now <3568-nun->, by the same <0846-autos-> word <3056-
logos-> are kept <2343-thesaurizo-> in store <2343- thesaurizo->,
reserved <5083-tereo-> unto fire <4442-pur-> against <1519-eis->
the day <2250-hemera-> of judgment <2920-krisis-> and perdition

8. But, beloved <0027-agapetos->, be not ignorant <2990-
lanthano-> of this <5124-touto-> one <1520-heis-> thing, that

kurios-> as a thousand <5507-chilioi-> years <2094- etos->, and a

9. The Lord <2962-kurios-> is not slack <1019-braduno- >
concerning <4314-pros-> his promise <1860-epaggelia->, as some
<5100-tis-> men count <2233-hegeomai-> slackness < 1022-bradutes-
>; but is longsuffering to us-ward <2248-hemas->, not willing
<1014-boo-lom-ahee-> that any <5100-tis-> should perish <0622-
apollumi->, but that all <3956-pas-> should come < 5562-choreo->
to repentance <3341-metanoia->.

10 But the day <2250-hemera-> of the Lord <2962-kurios- > will
come <2240-heko-> as a thief <2812-kleptes-> in the night <3571-
nux->; in the which <3739-hos-> the heavens <3772- ouranos->
shall pass <3928-parerchomai-> away with a great noise < 4500-
rhoizedon->, and the elements <4747-stoicheion-> shall melt

> also <2532-kai-> and the works <2041-ergon-> that are therein
<0846-autos-> shall be burned <2618-katakaio-> up.

11. [Seeing] then <3767-oun-> [that] all <3956-pas-> these
<5130-touton-> things shall be dissolved <3089-luo->, what <4217-
potapos-> manner <4217-potapos-> [of persons] ought < 1163-dei->
ye to be in [all] holy <0040-hagios-> conversation <0391-
anastrophe-> and godliness <2150-eusebeia->,

12 Looking <4328-prosdokao-> for and hasting <4692- speudo->
unto the coming <3952-parousia-> of the day <2250-hemera- > of
God <2316-theos->, wherein <3757-hou-> the heavens <3772-ouranos-
> being on fire <4448-puroo-> shall be dissolved < 3089-luo->,
and the elements <4747-stoicheion-> shall melt <5080- teko-> with
fervent heat <2741-kausoo->?

13 Nevertheless <1161-de-> we, according <2596-kata-> to his
promise <1862-epaggelma->, look <4328-prosdokao-> for new <2537-
kainos-> heavens <3772-ouranos-> and a new <2537- kainos-> earth
<1093-ge->, wherein <3757-hou-> dwelleth <2730- katoikeo->
righteousness <1343-dikaiosune->.

14 Wherefore <1352-dio->, beloved <0027-agapetos->, seeing that
ye look <4328-prosdokao-> for such <5023-tauta-> things, be
diligent <4704-spoudazo-> that ye may be found <2147- heurisko->
of him in peace <1515-eirene->, without <0784-aspilos- > spot
<0784-aspilos->, and blameless <0298-amometos->.

15 And account <2233-hegeomai-> [that] the longsuffering <3115-
makrothumia-> of our Lord <2962-kurios-> [is] salvation <4991-
soteria->; even <2531-kathos-> as our beloved <0027- agapetos->

18 But grow <0837-auzano-> in grace <5485-charis->, and [in]
