CHAPTER 2 :1 Unto the angel <G 0032> of the church <G 1577> ofEphesus <G 2181> write <G 1125>; These <G 3592> things saith <G 3004> he that holdeth <G 2902> the seven <G 2033> stars <G 0792> in his right <G 1188> hand, who <G 3588> walketh < G 4043> in the midst <G 3319> of the seven <G 2033> golden <G 5552> candlesticks <G 3087>; :2 I know <G 1492> thy works <G 2041>, and thy labour <G 2873>, and thy patience <G 5281>, and how <G 3754> thou canst <G 1410> not bear <G 0941> them which are evil <G 2556>: and thou hast tried <G 3985> them which say <G 5335> they are apostles <G 0652>, and are not, and hast found <G 2147> them liars <G 5571>: :3 And hast borne <G 0941>, and hast <G 2192> patience <G 5281>, and for my name's <G 3686> sake hast laboured <G 2872> , and hast not fainted <G 2577>. :4 Nevertheless <G 0235> I have <G 2192> [somewhat] against <G 2596> thee, because <G 3754> thou hast left <G 0863> thy first <G 4413> love <G 0026>. :5 Remember <G 3421> therefore <G 3767> from whence <G 4159> thou art fallen <G 1601>, and repent <G 3340>, and do <G 4160> the first <G 4413> works <G 2041>; or <G 1161> else <G 1490> I will come <G 2064> unto thee quickly <G 5035>, and will remove <G 2795> thy candlestick <G 3087> out of his place <G 5117>, except <G 3362> thou repent <G 3340>. :6 But this <G 5124> thou hast <G 2192>, that thou hatest <G 3404> the deeds <G 2041> of the Nicolaitans <G 3531>, which <G 3739> I also <G 2504> hate <G 3404>. :7 He that hath <G 2192> an ear <G 3775>, let him hear <G 0191> what <G 5101> the Spirit <G 4151> saith <G 3004> unto the churches <G 1577>; To him that overcometh <G 3528> will I give <G 1325> to eat <G 5315> of the tree <G 3586> of life <G 2222>, which <G 3739> is in the midst <G 3319> of the paradise <G 3857> of God <G 2316>. :8 And unto the angel <G 0032> of the church <G 1577> in Smyrna <G 4668> write <G 1125>; These <G 3592> things saith <G 3004> the first <G 4413> and the last <G 2078>, which <G 3739> was dead <G 3498>, and is alive <G 2198>; :9 I know <G 1492> thy works <G 2041>, and tribulation <G 2347>, and poverty <G 4432>, (but thou art <G 1488> rich < G 4145>) and [I know] the blasphemy <G 0988> of them which <G 3588> say <G 3004> they are Jews <G 2453>, and are not, but [are] the synagogue <G 4864> of Satan <G 4567>. :10 Fear <G 5399> none <G 3367> of those <G 3588> things which <G 3739> thou shalt suffer <G 3958>: behold <G 2400>, the devil <G 1228> shall cast <G 0906> [some] of you into <G 1519> prison <G 5438>, that ye may be tried <G 3985>; and ye shall have <G 2192> tribulation <G 2347> ten <G 1176> days <G 2250>: be thou faithful <G 4103> unto death <G 2288>, and I will give <G 1325> thee a crown <G 4735> of life <G 2222>. :11 He that hath <G 2192> an ear <G 3775>, let him hear <G 0191> what <G 5101> the Spirit <G 4151> saith <G 3004> unto the churches <G 1577>; He that overcometh <G 3528> shall not be hurt <G 0091> of the second <G 1208> death <G 2288>. :12 And to the angel <G 0032> of the church <G 1577> in Pergamos <G 4010> write <G 1125>; These <G 3592> things saith <G 3004> he which hath <G 2192> the sharp <G 3691> sword <G 4501> with two <G 1366> edges <G 1366>; :13 I know <G 1492> thy works <G 2041>, and where < G 4226> thou dwellest <G 2730>, [even] where <G 3699> Satan's < G 4567> seat <G 2362> [is]: and thou holdest <G 2902> fast my name <G 3686>, and hast not denied <G 0720> my faith <G 4102>, even <G 2532> in those <G 3588> days <G 2250> wherein <G 3757> Antipas <G 0493> [was] my faithful <G 4103> martyr <G 3144>, who <G 3739> was slain <G 0615> among <G 3844> you, where <G 3699> Satan <G 4567> dwelleth <G 2730>. :14 But I have <G 2192> a few <G 3641> things against <G 2596> thee, because <G 3754> thou hast <G 2192> there <G 1563> them that hold <G 2902> the doctrine <G 1322> of Balaam <G 0903>, who <G 3739> taught <G 1321> Balac <G 0904> to cast <G 0906> a stumblingblock <G 4625> before <G 1799> the children <G 5207> of Israel <G 2474>, to eat <G 5315> things sacrificed <G 1494> unto idols <G 1494>, and to commit <G 4203> fornication <G 4203>. :15 So <G 3779> hast <G 2192> thou also <G 2532> them that hold <G 2902> the doctrine <G 1322> of the Nicolaitans < G 3531>, which <G 3739> thing I hate <G 3404>. :16 Repent <G 3340>; or <G 1161> else <G 1490> I will come <G 2064> unto thee quickly <G 5035>, and will fight <G 4170> against <G 3326> them with the sword <G 4501> of my mouth <G 4750>. :17 He that hath <G 2192> an ear <G 3775>, let him hear <G 0191> what <G 5101> the Spirit <G 4151> saith <G 3004> unto the churches <G 1577>; To him that overcometh <G 3528> will I give <G 1325> to eat <G 5315> of the hidden <G 2928> manna <G 3131>, and will give <G 1325> him a white <G 3022> stone < G 5586>, and in the stone <G 5586> a new <G 2537> name <G 3686> written <G 1125>, which <G 3739> no <G 3762> man <G 3762> knoweth <G 1097> saving <G 1508> he that receiveth <G 2983> [it]. :18 And unto the angel <G 0032> of the church <G 1577> in Thyatira <G 2363> write <G 1125>; These <G 3592> things saith <G 3004> the Son <G 5207> of God <G 2316>, who <G 3588> hath <G 2192> his eyes <G 3788> like <G 5613> unto a flame <G 5395> of fire <G 4442>, and his feet <G 4228> [are] like <G 3664> fine brass <G 5474>; :19 I know <G 1492> thy works <G 2041>, and charity <G 0026>, and service <G 1248>, and faith <G 4102>, and thy patience <G 5281>, and thy works <G 2041>; and the last <G 2078> [to be] more <G 4119> than the first <G 4413>. :20 Notwithstanding <G 0235> I have <G 2192> a few <G 3641> things against <G 2596> thee, because <G 3754> thou sufferest <G 1439> that woman <G 1135> Jezebel <G 2403>, which <G 3588> calleth <G 3004> herself <G 1438> a prophetess <G 4398>, to teach <G 1321> and to seduce <G 4105> my servants < G 1401> to commit <G 4203> fornication <G 4203>, and to eat < G 5315> things sacrificed <G 1494> unto idols <G 1494>. :21 And I gave <G 1325> her space <G 5550> to repent <G 3340> of her fornication <G 4202>; and she repented <G 3340> not. :22 Behold <G 2400>, I will cast <G 0906> her into <G 1519> a bed <G 2825>, and them that commit <G 3431> adultery <G 3431> with her into <G 1519> great <G 3173> tribulation < G 2347>, except <G 3362> they repent <G 3340> of their deeds <G 2041>. :23 And I will kill <G 0615> her children <G 5043> with death <G 2288>; and all <G 3956> the churches <G 1577> shall know <G 1097> that I am <G 1510> he which <G 3739> searcheth <G 2045> the reins <G 3510> and hearts <G 2588>: and I will give <G 1325> unto every <G 1538> one of you according <G 2596> to your <G 5216> works <G 2041>. :24 But unto you I say <G 3004>, and unto the rest <G 3062> in Thyatira <G 2363>, as many <G 3745> as have <G 2192> not this <G 5026> doctrine <G 1322>, and which <G 3748> have not known <G 1097> the depths <G 0899> of Satan <G 4567>, as they speak <G 3004>; I will put <G 0906> upon you none <G 3367> other <G 0243> burden <G 0922>. :25 But that which ye have <G 2192> [already] hold <G 2902> fast till <G 0891> I come <G 2240>. :26 And he that overcometh <G 3528>, and keepeth <G 5083> my works <G 2041> unto the end <G 5056>, to him will I give <G 1325> power <G 1849> over <G 1909> the nations < G 1484>: :27 And he shall rule <G 4165> them with a rod <G 4464> of iron <G 4603>; as the vessels <G 4632> of a potter <G 2764> shall they be broken <G 4937> to shivers <G 4937>: even < G 2504> as I received <G 2983> of my Father <G 3962>. :28 And I will give <G 1325> him the morning <G 4407> star <G 0792>. :29 He that hath <G 2192> an ear <G 3775>, let him hear <G 0191> what <G 5101> the Spirit <G 4151> saith <G 3004> unto the churches <G 1577>.
