CHAPTER 8 :1 And when <G 3753> he had opened <G 0455> theseventh <G 1442> seal <G 4973>, there was silence < G 4602> in heaven <G 3772> about <G 5613> the space of half < G 2256> an hour <G 2256>. :2 And I saw <G 1492> the seven <G 2033> angels <G 0032> which <G 3739> stood <G 2476> before <G 1799> God < G 2316>; and to them were given <G 1325> seven <G 2033> trumpets < G 4536>. :3 And another <G 0243> angel <G 0032> came <G 2064> and stood <G 2476> at <G 1909> the altar <G 2379>, having <G 2192> a golden <G 5552> censer <G 3031>; and there was given <G 1325> unto him much <G 4183> incense <G 2368>, that he should offer <G 1325> [it] with the prayers <G 4335> of all <G 3956> saints <G 0040> upon the golden <G 5552> altar <G 2379> which <G 3588> was before <G 1799> the throne <G 2362>. :4 And the smoke <G 2586> of the incense <G 2368>, [which came] with the prayers <G 4335> of the saints <G 0040>, ascended <G 0305> up before <G 1799> God <G 2316> out of the angel's <G 0032> hand <G 5495>. :5 And the angel <G 0032> took <G 2983> the censer <G 3031>, and filled <G 1072> it with fire <G 4442> of the altar <G 2379>, and cast <G 0906> [it] into <G 1519> the earth <G 1093>: and there were voices <G 5456>, and thunderings <G 1027>, and lightnings <G 0796>, and an earthquake <G 4578>. :6 And the seven <G 2033> angels <G 0032> which <G 3588> had <G 2192> the seven <G 2033> trumpets <G 4536> prepared <G 2090> themselves <G 1438> to sound <G 4537>. :7 The first <G 4413> angel <G 0032> sounded <G 4537>, and there followed <G 1096> hail <G 5464> and fire <G 4442> mingled <G 3396> with blood <G 0129>, and they were cast <G 0906> upon the earth <G 1093>: and the third <G 5154> part of trees <G 1186> was burnt <G 2618> up, and all <G 3956> green <G 5515> grass <G 5528> was burnt <G 2618> up. :8 And the second <G 1208> angel <G 0032> sounded < G 4537>, and as it were a great <G 3173> mountain <G 3735> burning <G 2545> with fire <G 4442> was cast <G 0906> into <G 1519> the sea <G 2281>: and the third <G 5154> part of the sea <G 2281> became <G 1096> blood <G 0129>; :9 And the third <G 5154> part of the creatures <G 2938> which <G 3588> were in the sea <G 2281>, and had <G 2192> life <G 5590>, died <G 0599>; and the third <G 5154> part of the ships <G 4143> were destroyed <G 1311>. :10 And the third <G 5154> angel <G 0032> sounded < G 4537>, and there fell <G 4098> a great <G 3173> star <G 0792> from heaven <G 3772>, burning <G 2545> as it were a lamp <G 2985>, and it fell <G 4098> upon the third <G 5154> part of the rivers <G 4215>, and upon the fountains <G 4077> of waters <G 5204>; :11 And the name <G 3686> of the star <G 0792> is called <G 3004> Wormwood <G 0894>: and the third <G 5154> part of the waters <G 5204> became <G 1519> wormwood <G 0894>; and many <G 4183> men <G 0444> died <G 0599> of the waters < G 5204>, because <G 3754> they were made <G 4087> bitter <G 4087> . :12 And the fourth <G 5067> angel <G 0032> sounded <G 4537>, and the third <G 5154> part of the sun <G 2246> was smitten <G 4141>, and the third <G 5154> part of the moon <G 4582>, and the third <G 5154> part of the stars <G 0792>; so <G 2443> as the third <G 5154> part of them was darkened <G 4654>, and the day <G 2250> shone <G 5316> not for a third <G 5154> part of it, and the night <G 3571> likewise <G 3668>. :13 And I beheld <G 1492>, and heard <G 0191> an angel <G 0032> flying <G 4072> through <G 1722> the midst <G 3321> of heaven <G 3321>, saying <G 3004> with a loud <G 3173> voice <G 5456>, Woe <G 3759>, woe <G 3759>, woe <G 3759>, to the inhabiters <G 2730> of the earth <G 1093> by reason <G 1537> of the other <G 3062> voices <G 5456> of the trumpet <G 4536> of the three <G 5140> angels <G 0032>, which <G 3588> are yet <G 3195> to sound <G 4537>!
