CHAPTER 13 :1 And I stood <G 2476> upon the sand <G 0285> of thesea <G 2281>, and saw <G 1492> a beast <G 2342> rise <G 0305> up out of the sea <G 2281>, having <G 2192> seven <G 2033> heads <G 2776> and ten <G 1176> horns <G 2768>, and upon his horns <G 2768> ten <G 1176> crowns <G 1238>, and upon his heads <G 2776> the name <G 3686> of blasphemy <G 0988>. :2 And the beast <G 2342> which <G 3739> I saw <G 1492> was like <G 3664> unto a leopard <G 3917>, and his feet <G 4228> were as [the feet <G 4228>] of a bear <G 0715>, and his mouth <G 4750> as the mouth <G 4750> of a lion <G 3023>: and the dragon <G 1404> gave <G 1325> him his power <G 1411>, and his seat <G 2362>, and great <G 3173> authority <G 1849>. :3 And I saw <G 1492> one <G 3391> of his heads <G 2776> as it were wounded <G 4969> to death <G 2288>; and his deadly <G 2288> wound <G 4127> was healed <G 2323>: and all <G 3650> the world <G 1093> wondered <G 1839> after <G 3694> the beast <G 2342>. :4 And they worshipped <G 4352> the dragon <G 1404> which <G 3739> gave <G 1325> power <G 1849> unto the beast <G 2342>: and they worshipped <G 4352> the beast <G 2342>, saying <G 3004>, Who <G 5101> [is] like <G 3664> unto the beast <G 2342>? who <G 5101> is able <G 1410> to make <G 4170> war <G 4170> with him? :5 And there was given <G 1325> unto him a mouth <G 4750> speaking <G 2980> great <G 3173> things and blasphemies <G 0988>; and power <G 1849> was given <G 1325> unto him to continue <G 4160> forty <G 5062> [and] two <G 1417> months < G 3376>. :6 And he opened <G 0455> his mouth <G 4750> in blasphemy <G 0988> against <G 4314> God <G 2316>, to blaspheme <G 0987> his name <G 3686>, and his tabernacle <G 4633>, and them that dwell <G 4637> in heaven <G 3772>. :7 And it was given <G 1325> unto him to make <G 4160> war <G 4171> with the saints <G 0040>, and to overcome <G 3528> them: and power <G 1849> was given <G 1325> him over <G 1909> all <G 3956> kindreds <G 5443>, and tongues <G 1100>, and nations <G 1484>. :8 And all <G 3956> that dwell <G 2730> upon the earth <G 1093> shall worship <G 4352> him, whose <G 3739> names < G 3686> are not written <G 1125> in the book <G 0976> of life < G 2222> of the Lamb <G 0721> slain <G 4969> from the foundation <G 2602> of the world <G 2889>. :9 If <G 1487> any <G 1536> man have <G 2192> an ear <G 3775>, let him hear <G 0191>. :10 He that leadeth <G 4863> into captivity <G 0161> shall go <G 5217> into <G 1519> captivity <G 0161>: he that killeth <G 0615> with the sword <G 3162> must <G 1163> be killed <G 0615> with the sword <G 3162>. Here <G 5602> is the patience < G 5281> and the faith <G 4102> of the saints <G 0040>. :11 And I beheld <G 1492> another <G 0243> beast < G 2342> coming <G 0305> up out of the earth <G 1093>; and he had < G 2192> two <G 1417> horns <G 2768> like <G 3664> a lamb <G 0721>, and he spake <G 2980> as a dragon <G 1404>. :12 And he exerciseth <G 4160> all <G 3956> the power <G 1849> of the first <G 4413> beast <G 2342> before <G 1799> him, and causeth <G 4160> the earth <G 1093> and them which dwell <G 2730> therein <G 0846> to worship <G 4352> the first <G 4413> beast <G 2342>, whose <G 3739> deadly <G 2288> wound <G 4127> was healed <G 2323>. :13 And he doeth <G 4160> great <G 3173> wonders < G 4592>, so <G 2443> that he maketh <G 4160> fire <G 4442> come <G 2597> down <G 2597> from heaven <G 3772> on <G 1519> the earth <G 1093> in the sight <G 1799> of men <G 0444>, :14 And deceiveth <G 4105> them that dwell <G 2730> on <G 1909> the earth <G 1093> by [the means of] those <G 3588> miracles <G 4592> which <G 3739> he had power <G 1325> to do <G 4160> in the sight <G 1799> of the beast <G 2342>; saying <G 3004> to them that dwell <G 2730> on <G 1909> the earth <G 1093>, that they should make <G 4160> an image <G 1504> to the beast <G 2342>, which <G 3739> had <G 2192> the wound <G 4127> by a sword <G 3162>, and did live <G 2198>. :15 And he had power <G 1325> to give <G 1325> life <G 4151> unto the image <G 1504> of the beast <G 2342>, that the image <G 1504> of the beast <G 2342> should both <G 2532> speak <G 2980>, and cause <G 4160> that as many <G 3745> as would not worship <G 4352> the image <G 1504> of the beast <G 2342> should be killed <G 0615>. :16 And he causeth <G 4160> all <G 3956>, both small <G 3398> and great <G 3173>, rich <G 4145> and poor <G 4434>, free <G 1658> and bond <G 1401>, to receive <G 1325> a mark <G 5480> in their right <G 1188> hand <G 5495>, or <G 2228> in their foreheads <G 3359>: :17 And that no <G 3361> man <G 5100> might <G 1410> buy <G 0059> or <G 2228> sell <G 4453>, save <G 1508> he that had <G 2192> the mark <G 5480>, or <G 2228> the name < G 3686> of the beast <G 2342>, or <G 2228> the number <G 0706> of his name <G 3686>. :18 Here <G 5602> is wisdom <G 4678>. Let him that hath <G 2192> understanding <G 3563> count <G 5585> the number < G 0706> of the beast <G 2342>: for it is the number <G 0706> of a man <G 0444>; and his number <G 0706> [is] Six <G 1803> hundred < G 1812> threescore <G 1835> [and] six <G 1803>.
