DANIEL CHAPTER 1DAN 1:1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. <g babylon> <g besieged> <g came> <g jehoiakim> <g jerusalem> <g judah> <g king> <g nebuchadnezzar> <g reign> <g third> <g year> DAN 1:2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God:which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. <g brought> <g carried> <g gave> <g god> <g hand> <g house> <g into> <g jehoiakim> <g judah> <g king> <g land> <g lord> <g part> <g shinar> <g treasure> <g vessels> <g which> <g with> DAN 1:3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring [certain] of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; <g ashpenaz> <g bring> <g certain> <g children> <g eunuchs> <g israel> <g king> <g master> <g princes> <g seed> <g should> <g spake> DAN 1:4 Children in whom [was] no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as [had] ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. <g all> <g blemish> <g chaldeans> <g children> <g cunning> <g favoured> <g had> <g knowledge> <g learning> <g might> <g no> < g palace> <g science> <g skilful> <g stand> <g such> <g teach> <g tongue> <g understanding> <g well> <g whom> <g wisdom> DAN 1:5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank:so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. <g appointed> <g before> <g daily> <g drank> <g end> <g king> <g meat> <g might> <g nourishing> < g provision> <g so> <g stand> <g thereof> <g three> <g which> <g wine> <g years> DAN 1:6 Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:<g among> <g azariah> <g children> <g daniel> <g hananiah> <g judah> <g mishael> <g now> <g these> DAN 1:7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names:for he gave unto Daniel [ the name] of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. <g azariah> <g belteshazzar> <g daniel> <g eunuchs> <g gave> <g hananiah> <g meshach> <g mishael> <g name> <g names> <g prince> <g shadrach> <g whom> DAN 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank:therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. <g daniel> <g defile> <g drank> <g eunuchs> <g heart> <g himself> <g meat> <g might> <g nor> <g portion> <g prince> <g purposed> <g requested> <g therefore> <g which> <g wine> <g with> <g would> DAN 1:9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. <g brought> <g daniel> <g eunuchs> <g favour> <g god> <g had> <g into> <g love> <g now> <g prince> <g tender> <g with> DAN 1:10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which [are] of your sort? then shall ye make [ me] endanger my head to the king. <g appointed> <g are> <g children> <g daniel> <g drink> <g endanger> <g eunuchs> <g faces> <g fear> <g hath> <g head> <g king> <g liking> <g lord> < g make> <g meat> <g prince> <g said> <g see> <g should> <g sort> <g than> <g then> <g which> <g who> <g why> <g worse> <g your> DAN 1:11 Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, < g azariah> <g daniel> <g eunuchs> <g had> < g hananiah> <g melzar> <g mishael> <g over> <g prince> <g said> <g set> <g then> <g whom> DAN 1:12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. <g beseech> <g days> <g drink> <g eat> <g give> <g let> <g prove> <g pulse> <g servants> <g ten> <g water> DAN 1:13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat:and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. <g before> <g children> <g countenance> <g countenances> <g deal> <g eat> <g let> <g looked> <g meat> <g portion> <g seest> <g servants> <g then> <g with> DAN 1:14 So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. <g consented> <g days> <g matter> < g proved> <g so> <g ten> <g this> DAN 1:15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. <g all> <g appeared> <g children> <g countenances> <g days> <g did> <g eat> <g end> <g fairer> <g fatter> <g flesh> <g meat> <g portion> <g ten> <g than> <g which> DAN 1:16 Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. <g away> <g drink> <g gave> <g meat> <g melzar> <g portion> <g pulse> <g should> <g thus> <g took> <g wine> DAN 1:17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom:and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. <g all> <g children> <g daniel> <g dreams> <g four> <g gave> <g god> <g had> <g knowledge> <g learning> <g skill> <g these> <g understanding> <g visions> <g wisdom> DAN 1:18 Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. <g before> <g bring> <g brought> <g days> <g end> <g eunuchs> <g had> < g king> <g nebuchadnezzar> <g now> <g prince> <g said> <g should> <g then> DAN 1:19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:therefore stood they before the king. <g all> <g among> <g azariah> <g before> <g communed> <g daniel> <g found> <g hananiah> <g king> <g like> <g mishael> <g none> <g stood> <g therefore> <g with> DAN 1:20 And in all matters of wisdom [and] understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians [and] astrologers that [were] in all his realm. <g all> <g astrologers> <g better> <g found> <g inquired> <g king> <g magicians> <g matters> <g realm> <g ten> <g than> <g times> <g understanding> <g wisdom> DAN 1:21 And Daniel continued [even] unto the first year of king Cyrus. <g continued> <g cyrus> <g daniel> <g even> <g first> <g king> <g year>
