shall not be afraid <1481 guwr > of the face <6440 paniym > of
man <0376 >iysh >; for the judgment <4941 mishpat > [is] God's

unto the mountain <2022 har > of the Amorites <0567 > Emoriy >,

21 Behold <7200 ra>ah >, the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > thy God <0430
>elohiym > hath set <5414 nathan > the land <0776 >erets >
before <6440 paniym > thee: go <5927 <alah > up [and] possess
<3423 yarash > [it], as the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430
>elohiym > of thy fathers <1> hath said <1696 dabar > unto thee;

22 And ye came <7126 qarab > near <7126 qarab > unto me every

24 And they turned <6437 panah > and went <5927 < alah > up into
the mountain <2022 har >, and came <0935 bow> > unto the valley
<5158 nachal > of Eshcol <0812 >Eshkol >, and searched <7270
ragal > it out.



25 And they took <3947 laqach > of the fruit <6529 p@riy > of
the land <0776 >erets > in their hands <3027 yad >, and brought
<3381 yarad > [it] down <3381 yarad > unto us, and brought <7725
shuwb > us word <1697 dabar > again <7725 shuwb >, and said
<0559 >amar >, [It is] a good <2896 towb > land <0776 >erets >

26 Notwithstanding ye would <14> not go <5927 <alah > up, but
rebelled <4784 marah > against the commandment <6310 peh > of
the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > your God <0430 >elohiym >:



27 And ye murmured <7279 ragan > in your tents <0168 >ohel >,
and said <0559 >amar >, Because the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > hated
<8135 sin>ah > us, he hath brought <3318 yatsa> > us forth <3318
yatsa> > out of the land <0776 >erets > of Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim
>, to deliver <5414 nathan > us into the hand <3027 yad > of the
Amorites <0567 >Emoriy >, to destroy <8045 shamad > us.



28 Whither <0575 >an > shall we go <5927 <alah > up? our
brethren <0251 >ach > have discouraged <4549 macac > our heart

greater <1419 gadowl > and taller <7311 ruwm > than we; the
cities <5892 <iyr > [are] great <1419 gadowl > and walled <1219

we have seen <7200 ra>ah > the sons <1121 ben > of the Anakims

29 Then I said <0559 >amar > unto you, Dread <6206 <arats > not,
neither <3808 lo> > be afraid <3372 yare> > of them.



30 The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > your God <0430 >elohiym > which
goeth <1980 halak > before <6440 paniym > you, he shall fight
<3898 lacham > for you, according to all <3605 kol > that he did
<6213 <asah > for you in Egypt <4714 Mitsrayim > before your
eyes <5869 <ayin >;



31 And in the wilderness <4057 midbar >, where <0834 >aher >
thou hast seen <7200 ra>ah > how that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >
thy God <0430 >elohiym > bare <5375 nasa> > thee, as a man <0376
>iysh > doth bear <5375 nasa> > his son <1121 ben >, in all
<3605 kol > the way <1870 derek > that ye went < 1980 halak >,
until <5704 <ad > ye came <0935 bow> > into < 5704 <ad > this
place <4725 maqowm >.



32 Yet in this <2088 zeh > thing <1697 dabar > ye did not
believe <0539 >aman > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > your God <0430
>elohiym >,



33 Who went <1980 halak > in the way <1870 derek > before <6440
paniym > you, to search <8446 tuwr > you out a place < 4725
maqowm > to pitch <2583 chanah > your tents [in], in fire <0784
>esh > by night <3915 layil >, to shew <7200 ra> ah > you by what
<0834 >aher > way <1870 derek > ye should go < 3212 yalak >, and

34 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > heard <8085 shama< > the voice
<6963 qowl > of your words <1697 dabar >, and was wroth <7107
qatsaph >, and sware <7650 shaba< >, saying <0559 >amar >,



35 Surely <0518 >im > there shall not one <0376 > iysh > of
these <0428 >el-leh > men <0582 >enowsh > of this <2088 zeh >
evil <7451 ra< > generation <1755 dowr > see < 7200 ra>ah > that
good <2896 towb > land <0776 >erets >, which < 0834 >aher > I
sware <7650 shaba< > to give <5414 nathan > unto your fathers

36 Save <2108 zuwlah > Caleb <3612 Kaleb > the son <1121 ben >
of Jephunneh <3312 Y@phunneh >; he shall see <7200 ra> ah > it,
and to him will I give <5414 nathan > the land <0776 > erets >
that he hath trodden <1869 darak > upon, and to his children
<1121 ben >, because he hath wholly <4390 male> > followed <0310
>achar > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >.



37 Also <1571 gam > the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > was angry <0599
>anaph > with me for your sakes <1558 galal >, saying <0559

38 [But] Joshua <3091 Y@howshuwa< > the son <1121 ben > of Nun

thee, he shall go <0935 bow> > in thither <8033 sham >:
encourage <2388 chazaq > him: for he shall cause Israel < 3478
Yisra>el > to inherit <2157 Zamzom > it.



39 Moreover your little <2945 taph > ones, which <0834 >aher >
ye said <0559 >amar > should be a prey <0957 baz >, and your
children <1121 ben >, which <0834 >aher > in that day <3117 yowm
> had no <3808 lo> > knowledge <3045 yada< > between good <2896
towb > and evil <7451 ra< >, they shall go <0935 bow> > in
thither <8033 sham >, and unto them will I give <5414 nathan >
it, and they shall possess <3423 yarash > it.



40 But [as for] you, turn <6437 panah > you, and take your
journey <5265 naca< > into the wilderness <4057 midbar > by the
way <1870 derek > of the Red <5488 cuwph > sea < 3220 yam >.



41 Then ye answered <6030 <anah > and said <0559 > amar > unto
me, We have sinned <2398 chata> > against the LORD < 3068 Y@hovah
>, we will go <5927 <alah > up and fight <3898 lacham >,
according to all <3605 kol > that the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > our
God <0430 >elohiym > commanded <6680 tsavah > us. And when ye
had girded <2296 chagar > on every <0376 >iysh > man <0376 >iysh
> his weapons <3627 k@liy > of war <4421 milchamah >, ye were
ready <1951 huwn > to go <5927 <alah > up into the hill <2022
har >.



42 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > said <0559 >amar > unto me, Say
<0559 >amar > unto them, Go <5927 <alah > not up, neither <3808
lo> > fight <3898 lacham >; for I [am] not among < 7130 qereb >
you; lest <3808 lo> > ye be smitten <5062 nagaph > before <6440
paniym > your enemies <0341 >oyeb >.



43 So I spake <1696 dabar > unto you; and ye would not hear
<8085 shama< >, but rebelled <4784 marah > against the
commandment <6310 peh > of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, and went
<5927 <alah > presumptuously <2102 zuwd > up into the hill <2022
har >.



44 And the Amorites <0567 >Emoriy >, which dwelt < 3427 yashab >
in that mountain <2022 har >, came <3318 yatsa> > out against
<7125 qir>ah > you, and chased <7291 radaph > you, as bees <1682
d@bowrah > do <6213 <asah >, and destroyed <3807 kathath > you
in Seir <8165 Se<iyr >, [even] unto Hormah <2767 Chormah >.



45 And ye returned <7725 shuwb > and wept <1058 bakah > before

Y@hovah > would not hearken <8085 shama< > to your voice <6963

46 So ye abode <3427 yashab > in Kadesh <6946 Qadesh > many
<7227 rab > days <3117 yowm >, according unto the days <3117

the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <1696 dabar > unto me: and we
compassed <5437 cabab > mount <2022 har > Seir < 8165 Se<iyr >
many <7227 rab > days <3117 yowm >.



2 And the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <0559 >amar > unto me,
saying <0559 >amar >,



3 Ye have compassed <5437 cabab > this <2088 zeh > mountain
<2022 har > long <7227 rab > enough: turn <6437 panah > you
northward <6828 tsaphown >.



4 And command <6680 tsavah > thou the people <5971 < am >,
saying <0559 >amar >, Ye [are] to pass <5674 <abar > through the
coast <1366 g@buwl > of your brethren <0251 >ach > the children

ma<aseh > of thy hand <3027 yad >: he knoweth < 3045 yada< > thy
walking <3212 yalak > through this <2088 zeh > great <1419
gadowl > wilderness <4057 midbar >: these <2088 zeh > forty

thy God <0430 >elohiym > [hath been] with thee; thou hast lacked

Distress <6696 tsuwr > not the Moabites <4124 Mow>ab >, neither
<0408 >al > contend <1624 garah > with them in battle <4421
milchamah >: for I will not give <5414 nathan > thee of their
land <0776 >erets > [for] a possession <3425 y@rushah >; because
<3588 kiy > I have given <5414 nathan > Ar <6144 <Ar > unto the
children <1121 ben > of Lot <3876 Lowt > [for] a possession
<3425 y@rushah >.





10 The Emims <0368 >Eymiym > dwelt <3427 yashab > therein in
times past, a people <5971 <am > great <1419 gadowl >, and many
<7227 rab >, and tall <7311 ruwm >, as the Anakims <6062 <Anaqiy
>;

chashab > giants <7497 rapha> >, as the Anakims < 6062 <Anaqiy >;
but the Moabites <4125 Mow>abiy > call <7121 qara> > them Emims

from among <7130 qereb > the host <4264 machaneh >, until <5704
<ad > they were consumed <8552 tamam >.



16 So it came <1961 hayah > to pass, when <0834 > aher > all
<3605 kol > the men <0582 >enowsh > of war < 4421 milchamah >
were consumed <8552 tamam > and dead <4191 muwth > from among
<7130 qereb > the people <5971 <am >,



17 That the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > spake <1696 dabar > unto me,
saying <0559 >amar >,



18 Thou art to pass <5674 <abar > over <5674 < abar > through Ar
<6144 <Ar >, the coast <1366 g@buwl > of Moab < 4124 Mow>ab >,
this day <3117 yowm >:

rab >, and tall <7311 ruwm >, as the Anakims <6062 <Anaqiy >;
but the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > destroyed <8045 shamad > them
