Galatians 1
1. Paul <3972>, an apostle <0652>, (not of men <
0444>, neither
<3761> by man <0444>, but by Jesus <2424>
Christ <5547>, and God
<2316> the Father <3962>, who <3588> raised <
1453> him from the
dead <3498>;)
2 And all <3956> the brethren <0080> which are with
me, unto
the churches <1577> of Galatia <1053>:
3 Grace <5485> [be] to you and peace <1515> from
God <2316>
the Father <3962>, and [from] our Lord <2962> Jesus
<2424>
Christ <5547>,
4 Who <3588> gave <1325> himself <1438> for
our sins <0266>,
that he might deliver <1807> us from this <3588>
present <1764>
evil <4190> world <0165>, according <2596> to
the will <2307> of
God <2316> and our Father <3962>:
5 To whom <3739> [be] glory <1391> for ever <
0165> and ever
<0165>. Amen <0281>.
6. I marvel <2296> that ye are so <3779> soon <
5030> removed
<3346> from him that called <2564> you into <
1722> the grace
<5485> of Christ <5547> unto another <2087>
gospel <2098>:
7 Which <3739> is not another <0243>; but there be
some <5100>
that trouble <5015> you, and would <2309> pervert <
3344> the
gospel <2098> of Christ <5547>.
8 But though <1437> we, or <2228> an angel <
0032> from heaven
<3772>, preach <2097> any other gospel <2097>
unto you than
<3844> that which <3739> we have preached <2097>
unto you, let
him be accursed <0331>.
9 As we said <4280> before <4280>, so <2532>
say <3004> I now
<0737> again <3825>, If <1487> any <1536>
[man] preach <2097>
any <1536> other gospel <2097> unto you than <
3844> that ye have
received <3880>, let him be accursed <0331>.
10. For do I now <0737> persuade <3982> men <
0444>, or <2228>
God <2316>? or <2228> do I seek <2212> to
please <0700> men
<0444>? for if <1487> I yet <2089> pleased <
0700> men <0444>, I
should not be the servant <1401> of Christ <5547>.
11 But I certify <1107> you, brethren <0080>, that
the gospel
<2098> which <3588> was preached <2097> of me
is not after
<2596> man <0444>.
12 For I neither <3761> received <3880> it of man
<0444>,
neither <3777> was I taught <1321> [it], but by the
revelation
<0602> of Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.
13 For ye have heard <0191> of my conversation <
0391> in time
<4218> past in the Jews <2454>' religion <2854>,
how that beyond
<5236> measure <5236> I persecuted <1377> the
church <1577> of
God <2316>, and wasted <4199> it:
14 And profited <4298> in the Jews <2454>' religion
<2454>
above <5228> many <4183> my equals <4915> in
mine <3450> own
nation <1085>, being <5225> more <4056>
exceedingly <4056>
zealous <2207> of the traditions <3862> of my fathers
<3967>.
15 But when <3753> it pleased <2106> God <
2316>, who <3588>
separated <0873> me from my mother's <3384> womb <
2836>, and
called <2564> [me] by his grace <5485>,
16 To reveal <0601> his Son <5207> in me, that I
might preach
<2097> him among <1722> the heathen <1484>;
immediately <2112> I
conferred <4323> not with flesh <4561> and blood <
0129>:
17 Neither <3761> went <0424> I up to Jerusalem <
2414> to them
which were apostles <0652> before <4253> me; but I
went <0565>
into <1519> Arabia <0688>, and returned <5290>
again <3825> unto
Damascus <1154>.
18 Then <1899> after <2596> three <5140>
years <2094> I went
<0424> up to Jerusalem <2414> to see <2477>
Peter <4074>, and
abode <1961> with him fifteen <1178> days <2250>
.
19 But other <2087> of the apostles <0652> saw <
1492> I none
<3756>, save <1508> James <2385> the Lord's <
2962> brother
<0080>.
20 Now <2236> the things which <3739> I write <
1125> unto you,
behold <2400>, before <1799> God <2316>, I lie
<5574> not.
21 Afterwards <1899> I came <2064> into <1519>
the regions
<2825> of Syria <4947> and Cilicia <2791>;
22 And was unknown <0050> by face <4383> unto the
churches
<1577> of Judaea <2449> which <3588> were in
Christ <5547>:
23 But they had heard <0191> only <3440>, That he
which
persecuted <1377> us in times <4218> past now <
3568> preacheth
<2097> the faith <4102> which <3739> once <
4218> he destroyed
<4199>.
24 And they glorified <1392> God <2316> in me.
Galatians 2
1. Then <1899> fourteen <1180> years <2094>
after <1223> I went
<0305> up again <3825> to Jerusalem <2414> with
Barnabas <0921>,
and took <4838> Titus <5103> with [me] also <
2532>.
2 And I went <0305> up by revelation <0602>, and
communicated
<0394> unto them that gospel <2098> which <3739>
I preach <2784>
among <1722> the Gentiles <1484>, but privately <
2398> to them
which were of reputation <1380>, lest <3381> by any
<3381> means
<4458> I should run <5143>, or <2228> had run
<5143>, in vain
<2756>.
3 But neither <3761> Titus <5103>, who <3588>
was with me,
being <5607> a Greek <1672>, was compelled <
0315> to be
circumcised <4059>:
4 And that because <1223> of false <5569> brethren
<5569>
unawares <3920> brought <3920> in, who <3748>
came <3922> in
privily <3922> to spy <2684> out our liberty <
1657> which <3739>
we have <2192> in Christ <5547> Jesus <2424>,
that they might
bring <2615> us into bondage <2615>:
5 To whom <3739> we gave <1502> place <1502>
by subjection
<5292>, no, not for an hour <5610>; that the truth
<0225> of the
gospel <2098> might continue <1265> with you.
6 But of these who seemed <1380> to be somewhat <
5100>,
(whatsoever they were, it maketh <1308> no <3762>
matter <1308>
to me: God <2316> accepteth <2983> no <3756>
man's <0444> person
<4383>:) for they who seemed <1380> [to be somewhat]
in
conference <4323> added <4323> nothing <3762>
to me:
7 But contrariwise <5121>, when they saw <1492>
that the
gospel <2098> of the uncircumcision <0203> was
committed <4100>
unto me, as [the gospel] of the circumcision <4061> [was]
unto
Peter <4074>;
8 (For he that wrought <1754> effectually <1754> in
Peter
<4074> to the apostleship <0651> of the circumcision
<4061>, the
same <2532> was mighty <1754> in me toward <
1519> the Gentiles
<1484>:)
9 And when James <2385>, Cephas <2786>, and John
<2491>, who
<3588> seemed <1380> to be pillars <4769>,
perceived <1097> the
grace <5485> that was given <1325> unto me, they gave
<1325> to
me and Barnabas <0921> the right <1188> hands of
fellowship
<2842>; that we [should go] unto the heathen <1484>,
and they
unto the circumcision <4061>.
10 Only <3440> [they would] that we should remember <
3421> the
poor <4434>; the same <5124> which <3739> I
also <2532> was
forward <4704> to do <4160>.
11. But when <3753> Peter <4074> was come <
2064> to Antioch
<0490>, I withstood <0436> him to the face <
4383>, because
<3754> he was to be blamed <2607>.
12 For before <4253> that certain <5100> came <
2064> from
James <2385>, he did eat <4906> with the Gentiles <
1484>: but
when <3753> they were come <2064>, he withdrew <
5288> and
separated <0873> himself <1438>, fearing <5399>
them which were
of the circumcision <4061>.
13 And the other <3062> Jews <2453> dissembled <
4942> likewise
<2532> with him; insomuch <5620> that Barnabas <
0921> also
<2532> was carried <4879> away <4879> with
their dissimulation
<5272>.
14 But when <3753> I saw <1492> that they walked
<3716> not
uprightly <3716> according <4314> to the truth <
0225> of the
gospel <2098>, I said <2036> unto Peter <4074>
before <1715>
[them] all <3956>, If <1487> thou, being <5225>
a Jew <2453>,
