> unto the reapers <7114 qatsar >, The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > [be]
with you. And they answered <0559 >amar > him, The LORD <3068
Y@hovah > bless <1288 barak > thee.

5 Then said <0559 >amar > Boaz <1162 Bo<az > unto his servant
<5288 na<ar > that was set <5324 natsab > over < 5921 <al > the
reapers <7114 qatsar >, Whose <4310 miy > damsel < 5291 na<arah >
[is] this <2063 zo>th >?

6 And the servant <5288 na<ar > that was set <5324 natsab >
over <5921 <al > the reapers <7114 qatsar > answered <6030 <anah
> and said <0559 >amar >, It [is] the Moabitish < 4125 Mow>abiy >

hence <2088 zeh >, but abide <1692 dabaq > here < 3541 koh > fast
by my maidens <5291 na<arah >:

9 [Let] thine eyes <5869 <ayin > [be] on the field < 7704 sadeh
> that they do reap <7114 qatsar >, and go <1980 halak > thou
after <0310 >achar > them: have I not charged <6680 tsavah > the
young <5288 na<ar > men that they shall not touch < 5060 naga< >

have I found <4672 matsa> > grace <2580 chen > in thine eyes

12 The LORD <3068 Y@hovah > recompense <7999 shalam > thy work

> be given thee of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah > God <0430 >elohiym >
of Israel <3478 Yisra>el >, under <8478 tachath > whose <0834

13 Then she said <0559 >amar >, Let me find <4672 matsa> >
favour <2580 chen > in thy sight <5869 <ayin >, my lord <3068
Y@hovah >; for that thou hast comforted <5162 nacham > me, and
for that thou hast spoken <1696 dabar > friendly <3820 leb >
unto thine handmaid <8198 shiphchah >, though I be not like unto

14 And Boaz <1162 Bo<az > said <0559 >amar > unto her, At
mealtime come <5060 naga< > thou hither <1988 halom >, and eat
<0398 >akal > of the bread <3899 lechem >, and dip <2881 tabal >
thy morsel <6595 path > in the vinegar <2558 chomets > . And she
sat <3427 yashab > beside <6654 tsad > the reapers <7114 qatsar
>: and he reached <6642 tsabat > her parched <7039 qaliy >
[corn], and she did eat <0398 >akal >, and was sufficed <7646

15 And when she was risen <6965 quwm > up to glean < 3950 laqat
>, Boaz <1162 Bo<az > commanded <6680 tsavah > his young <5288
na<ar > men, saying <0559 >amar >, Let her glean <3950 laqat >
even <1571 gam > among the sheaves <6016 <omer >, and reproach
<3637 kalam > her not:

16 And let fall <7997 shalal > also <1571 gam > [some] of the
handfuls <6653 tsebeth > of purpose <7997 shalal > for her, and
leave <5800 <azab > [them], that she may glean <3950 laqat >
[them], and rebuke <1605 ga<ar > her not.

17. So she gleaned <3950 laqat > in the field <7704 sadeh >
until <5704 <ad > even <6153 <ereb >, and beat <2251 chabat >
out that she had gleaned <3950 laqat >: and it was about an
ephah <0374 >eyphah > of barley <8184 s@<orah >.

18 And she took <5375 nasa> > [it] up, and went < 0935 bow> >
into the city <5892 <iyr >: and her mother <2545 chamowth > in
law <2545 chamowth > saw <7200 ra>ah > what she had gleaned
<3950 laqat >: and she brought <3318 yatsa> > forth <3318 yatsa>
>, and gave <5414 nathan > to her that she had reserved <3498

19 And her mother <2545 chamowth > in law <2545 chamowth > said
<0559 >amar > unto her, Where <0645 >ephow > hast thou gleaned

daughter <3618 kallah > in law <3618 kallah >, Blessed <1288
barak > [be] he of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, who < 0834 >aher >
hath not left <5800 <azab > off his kindness <2617 checed > to
the living <2416 chay > and to the dead <4191 muwth >. And Naomi
<5281 No<omiy > said <0559 >amar > unto her, The man <0376 >iysh
> [is] near <7138 qarowb > of kin unto us, one of our next

21 And Ruth <7327 Ruwth > the Moabitess <4125 Mow> abiy > said
<0559 >amar >, He said <0559 >amar > unto me also, Thou shalt
keep <1692 dabaq > fast by my young <5288 na<ar > men, until

Ruwth > her daughter <1323 bath > in law <3618 kallah >, [It is]

1. Then Naomi <5281 No<omiy > her mother <2545 chamowth > in
law <2545 chamowth > said <0559 >amar > unto her, My daughter
<1323 bath >, shall I not seek <1245 baqash > rest <4494
manowach > for thee, that it may be well <3190 yatab > with thee?

2 And now <6258 <attah > [is] not Boaz <1162 Bo< az > of our
kindred <4130 mowda<ath >, with whose <0834 >aher > maidens
<5291 na<arah > thou wast? Behold <2009 hinneh >, he winnoweth

3 Wash <7364 rachats > thyself therefore, and anoint < 5480 cuwk

thou sayest <0559 >amar > unto me I will do <6213 < asah >.

9 And he said <0559 >amar >, Who <4310 miy > [art] thou? And
she answered <0559 >amar >, I [am] Ruth <7327 Ruwth > thine
handmaid <0519 >amah >: spread <6566 paras > therefore thy skirt

for thou [art] a near kinsman <1350 ga>al >.

10 And he said <0559 >amar >, Blessed <1288 barak > [be] thou
of the LORD <3068 Y@hovah >, my daughter <1323 bath >: [for]
thou hast shewed <3190 yatab > more kindness <2617 checed > in
the latter <0314 >acharown > end than <4480 min > at the
beginning <7223 ri>shown >, inasmuch <1115 biltiy > as thou
followedst not young <0970 bachuwr > men, whether <0518 >im >

11 And now <6258 <attah >, my daughter <1323 bath >, fear <3372
yare> > not; I will do <6213 <asah > to thee all <3605 kol >
that thou requirest <0559 >amar >: for all <3605 kol > the city

thy] near kinsman <1350 ga>al >: howbeit there is a kinsman

13 Tarry <3885 luwn > this night <3915 layil >, and it shall be
in the morning <1242 boqer >, [that] if <0518 >im > he will
perform unto thee the part of a kinsman <1350 ga>al >, well
<2896 towb >; let him do the kinsman's <1350 ga>al > part: but
