1John 1

1. That which <3739> was from the beginning <0746>, which
<3739> we have heard <0191>, which <3739> we have seen <3708>
with our eyes <3788>, which <3739> we have looked < 2300> upon,
and our hands <5495> have handled <5584>, of the Word <3056> of
life <2222>;

2 (For the life <2222> was manifested <5319>, and we have seen
<3708> [it], and bear <3140> witness <3140>, and shew <0518>
unto you that eternal <0166> life <2222>, which < 3748> was with
the Father <3962>, and was manifested <5319> unto us;)

3 That which <3739> we have seen <3708> and heard <0191>
declare <0518> we unto you, that ye also <2532> may have <2192>
fellowship <2842> with us: and truly <1161> our fellowship
<2842> [is] with the Father <3962>, and with his Son <5207>
Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>.

4 And these <5023> things write <1125> we unto you, that your
<5216> joy <5479> may be full <4137>.

5. This <3778> then <2532> is the message < 1860> which <3739>
we have heard <0191> of him, and declare <0312> unto you, that
God <2316> is light <5457>, and in him is no < 3756> darkness
<4653> at <3762> all <3762>.

6 If <1437> we say <2036> that we have <2192> fellowship
<2842> with him, and walk <4043> in darkness < 4655>, we lie
<5574>, and do <4160> not the truth <0225>:

7 But if <1437> we walk <4043> in the light < 5457>, as he is
in the light <5457>, we have <2192> fellowship < 2842> one <3391>
with another <0240>, and the blood <0129> of Jesus <2424> Christ
<5547> his Son <5207> cleanseth <2511> us from all <3956> sin
<0266>.

8. If <1437> we say <2036> that we have <2192> no <3756> sin
<0266>, we deceive <4105> ourselves <1438>, and the truth <0225>
is not in us.

9 If <1437> we confess <3670> our sins <0266>, he is faithful
<4103> and just <1342> to forgive <0863> us [our] sins <0266>,
and to cleanse <2511> us from all <3956> unrighteousness <0093>.

10 If <1437> we say <2036> that we have not sinned <0264>, we
make <4160> him a liar <5583>, and his word < 3056> is not in us.

1John 2

1. My little <5040> children <5040>, these < 5023> things write
<1125> I unto you, that ye sin <0264> not. And if < 1437> any
<5100> man sin <0264>, we have <2192> an advocate <3875> with
the Father <3962>, Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> the righteous
<1342>:

2 And he is the propitiation <2434> for our sins < 0266>: and
not for ours <2251> only <3440>, but also <2532> for [the sins
of] the whole <3650> world <2889>.

3. And hereby <5129> we do know <1097> that we know <1097> him,
if <1437> we keep <5083> his commandments <1785> .

4 He that saith <3004>, I know <1097> him, and keepeth <5083>
not his commandments <1785>, is a liar <5583>, and the truth
<0225> is not in him.

5 But whoso <0302> keepeth <5083> his word < 3056>, in him
verily <0230> is the love <0026> of God <2316> perfected <5048>:
hereby <5129> know <1097> we that we are in him.

6 He that saith <3004> he abideth <3306> in him ought <3784>
himself <0846> also <2532> so <3779> to walk <4043>, even <2531>
as he walked <4043>.

7. Brethren <0080>, I write <1125> no <3756> new <2537>
commandment <1785> unto you, but an old <3820> commandment
<1785> which <3739> ye had <2192> from the beginning <0746>. The
old <3820> commandment <1785> is the word <3056> which <3739> ye
have heard <0191> from the beginning <0746>.

8 Again <3825>, a new <2537> commandment < 1785> I write <1125>
unto you, which <3739> thing is true <0257> in him and in you:
because <3754> the darkness <4653> is past < 3855>, and the true
<0228> light <5457> now <2236> shineth < 5316>.

9 He that saith <3004> he is in the light <5457>, and hateth
<3404> his brother <0080>, is in darkness <4653> even until
<2193> now <0737>.

10 He that loveth <0025> his brother <0080> abideth <3306> in
the light <5457>, and there is none <3756> occasion <4625> of
stumbling <4625> in him.

11 But he that hateth <3404> his brother <0080> is in darkness
<4653>, and walketh <4043> in darkness <4653>, and knoweth
<1492> not whither <4226> he goeth <5217>, because <3754> that
darkness <4653> hath blinded <5186> his eyes < 3788>.

12. I write <1125> unto you, little <5040> children <5040>,
because <3754> your <3588> sins <0266> are forgiven <0863> you
for his name's <3686> sake.

13 I write <1125> unto you, fathers <3962>, because <3754> ye
have known <1097> him [that is] from the beginning < 0746>. I
write <1125> unto you, young <3495> men <3495>, because <3754>
ye have overcome <3528> the wicked <4190> one. I write <1125>
unto you, little <3813> children <3813>, because < 3754> ye have
known <1097> the Father <3962>.

14 I have written <1125> unto you, fathers <3962>, because
<3754> ye have known <1097> him [that is] from the beginning
<0746>. I have written <1125> unto you, young < 3495> men <3495>,
because <3754> ye are strong <2478>, and the word < 3056> of God
<2316> abideth <3306> in you, and ye have overcome <3528> the
wicked <4190> one.

15 Love <0025> not the world <2889>, neither < 3366> the things
[that are] in the world <2889>. If <1437> any < 5100> man love
<0025> the world <2889>, the love <0026> of the Father <3962> is
not in him.

16 For all <3956> that [is] in the world <2889>, the lust
<1939> of the flesh <4561>, and the lust <1939> of the eyes
<3788>, and the pride <0212> of life <0979>, is not of the
Father <3962>, but is of the world <2889>.

17 And the world <2889> passeth <3855> away, and the lust
<1939> thereof <0846>: but he that doeth <4160> the will <2307>
of God <2316> abideth <3306> for ever <0165>.

18. Little <3813> children <3813>, it is the last <2078> time
<5610>: and as ye have heard <0191> that antichrist <0500> shall
come <2064>, even <2532> now <3568> are there many <4183>
antichrists <0500>; whereby <3606> we know < 1097> that it is the
last <2078> time <5610>.

19 They went <1831> out from us, but they were not of us; for
if <1487> they had been <2258> of us, they would [no doubt] have
continued <3306> with us: but [they went out], that they might
be made <5319> manifest <5319> that they were not all <3956> of
us.

20. But ye have <2192> an unction <5545> from the Holy <0040>
One, and ye know <1492> all <3956> things.

21 I have not written <1125> unto you because <3754> ye know
<1492> not the truth <0225>, but because <3754> ye know <1492>
it, and that no <3756> lie <5579> is of the truth < 0225>.

22 Who <5101> is a liar <5583> but he that denieth <0720> that
Jesus <2424> is the Christ <5547>? He is antichrist <0500>, that
denieth <0720> the Father <3962> and the Son < 5207>.

23 Whosoever <3588> denieth <0720> the Son < 5207>, the same
<3761> hath <2192> not the Father <3962>: [(but) he that
acknowledgeth the Son hath <2192> the Father also < 2532>].

24 Let that therefore <3767> abide <3306> in you, which <3739>
ye have heard <0191> from the beginning <0746>. If <1437> that
which <3739> ye have heard <0191> from the beginning <0746>
shall remain <3306> in you, ye also <2532> shall continue <3306>
in the Son <5207>, and in the Father <3962>.

25 And this <3778> is the promise <1860> that he hath promised
<1861> us, [even] eternal <0166> life <2222>.

26 These <5023> [things] have I written <1125> unto you
concerning <4012> them that seduce <4105> you.

27 But the anointing <5545> which <3739> ye have received
<2983> of him abideth <3306> in you, and ye need < 5532> not that
any <5100> man teach <1321> you: but as the same < 0846>
anointing <5545> teacheth <1321> you of all < 3956> things, and
is truth <0227>, and is no <3756> lie <5579>, and even <2531> as
it hath taught <1321> you, ye shall abide <3306> in him.

28. And now <3568>, little <5040> children < 5040>, abide <3306>
in him; that, when <3752> he shall appear <5319>, we may have
<2192> confidence <3954>, and not be ashamed < 0153> before
<0575> him at <1722> his coming <3952>.

29 If <1437> ye know <1492> that he is righteous <1342>, ye
know <1097> that every <3956> one that doeth < 4160>
righteousness <1343> is born <1080> of him.

1John 3

1. Behold <1492>, what <4217> manner <4217> of love <0026> the
Father <3962> hath bestowed <1325> upon us, that we should be
called <2564> the sons <5043> of God <2316>: therefore <5124>
the world <2889> knoweth <1097> us not, because < 3754> it knew
<1097> him not.

2 Beloved <0027>, now <3568> are we the sons < 5043> of God
<2316>, and it doth not yet <3768> appear <5319> what <5101> we
shall be: but we know <1492> that, when <1437> he shall appear
<5319>, we shall be like <3664> him; for we shall see <3700> him
as he is.

3 And every <3956> man that hath <2192> this < 5026> hope
<1680> in him purifieth <0048> himself <1438>, even <2531> as he
is pure <0053>.

4. Whosoever <3588> committeth <4160> sin < 0266> transgresseth
<4160> also <2532> the law <0458>: for sin < 0266> is the
transgression <0458> of the law <0458>.

5 And ye know <1492> that he was manifested <5319> to take
<0142> away our sins <0266>; and in him is no < 3756> sin <0266>.

6 Whosoever <3588> abideth <3306> in him sinneth <0264> not:
whosoever <3588> sinneth <0264> hath not seen < 3708> him,
neither <3761> known <1097> him.

7 Little <5040> children <5040>, let no <3367> man <3367>
deceive <4105> you: he that doeth <4160> righteousness <1343> is
righteous <1342>, even <2531> as he is righteous < 1342>.

8 He that committeth <4160> sin <0266> is of the devil <1228>;
for the devil <1228> sinneth <0264> from the beginning <0746>.
For this <5124> purpose the Son <5207> of God < 2316> was
manifested <5319>, that he might destroy <3089> the works <2041>
of the devil <1228>.

9 Whosoever <3588> is born <1080> of God < 2316> doth not
commit <4160> sin <0266>; for his seed <4690> remaineth <3306>
in him: and he cannot <1410> sin <0264>, because < 3754> he is
born <1080> of God <2316>.

10 In this <5129> the children <5043> of God < 2316> are
manifest <5318>, and the children <5043> of the devil <1228>:
whosoever <3588> doeth <4160> not righteousness < 1343> is not of
God <2316>, neither he that loveth <0025> not his brother <0080>.

11. For this <2778> is the message <0031> that ye heard <0191>
from the beginning <0746>, that we should love <0025> one <0240>
another <0240>.

12 Not as Cain <2535>, [who] was of that wicked < 4190> one,
and slew <4969> his brother <0080>. And wherefore < 5101> slew
<4969> he him? Because <3754> his own works < 2041> were evil
<4190>, and his brother's <0080> righteous < 1342>.

13 Marvel <2296> not, my brethren <0080>, if < 1487> the world
<2889> hate <3404> you.

14. We know <1492> that we have passed <3327> from death <2288>
unto life <2222>, because <3754> we love <0025> the brethren
<0080>. He that loveth <0025> not [his] brother < 0080> abideth
<3306> in death <2288>.

15 Whosoever <3588> hateth <3404> his brother < 0080> is a
murderer <0443>: and ye know <1492> that no < 3756> murderer
<0443> hath <2192> eternal <0166> life < 2222> abiding <3306> in
him.

16 Hereby <5129> perceive <1097> we the love < 0026> [of God],
because <3754> he laid <5087> down his life < 5590> for us: and
we ought <3784> to lay <5087> down <2597> [our] lives <5590> for
the brethren <0080>.

17 But whoso <0302> hath <2192> this <3588> world's <2889>
good <0979>, and seeth <2334> his brother <0080> have <2192>
need <5532>, and shutteth <2808> up his bowels < 4698> [of
compassion] from him, how <4459> dwelleth <3306> the love <0026>
of God <2316> in him?

18 My little <5040> children <5040>, let us not love <0025> in
word <3056>, neither <3366> in tongue <1100>; but in deed <2041>
and in truth <0225>.

19 And hereby <5129> we know <1097> that we are of the truth
<0225>, and shall assure <3982> our hearts < 2588> before <1715>
him.

20. For if <1437> our heart <2588> condemn < 2607> us, God
<2316> is greater <3187> than our heart <2588>, and knoweth
<1097> all <3956> things.

21 Beloved <0027>, if <1437> our heart <2588> condemn <2607>
us not, [then] have <2192> we confidence <3954> toward <4314>
God <2316>.

22 And whatsoever <1437> we ask <0154>, we receive <2983> of
him, because <3754> we keep <5083> his commandments <1785>, and
do <4160> those <3588> things that are pleasing < 0701> in his
sight <1799>.

23. And this <3778> is his commandment <1785>, That we should
believe <4100> on the name <3686> of his Son < 5207> Jesus <2424>
Christ <5547>, and love <0025> one <0240> another <0240>, as he
gave <1325> us commandment <1785>.

24 And he that keepeth <5083> his commandments < 1785> dwelleth
<3306> in him, and he in him. And hereby <5129> we know <1097>
that he abideth <3306> in us, by the Spirit <4151> which <3739>
he hath given <1325> us.

1John 4

1. Beloved <0027>, believe <4100> not every < 3956> spirit
<4151>, but try <1381> the spirits <4151> whether <1487> they
are of God <2316>: because <3754> many <4183> false <5578>
prophets <5578> are gone <1831> out into <1519> the world <2889>.

2 Hereby <5129> know <1097> ye the Spirit < 4151> of God <2316>:
Every <3956> spirit <4151> that confesseth < 3670> that Jesus
<2424> Christ <5547> is come <2064> in the flesh <4561> is of
God <2316>:

3 And every <3956> spirit <4151> that confesseth <3670> not
that Jesus <2424> Christ <5547> is come <2064> in the flesh
<4561> is not of God <2316>: and this <5124> is that [spirit] of
antichrist <0500>, whereof <3739> ye have heard < 0191> that it
should come <2064>; and even <2532> now <3568> already <2235> is
it in the world <2889>.

4. Ye are of God <2316>, little <5040> children < 5040>, and
have overcome <3528> them: because <3754> greater < 3187> is he
that is in you, than <2228> he that is in the world < 2889>.

5 They are of the world <2889>: therefore <5124> speak <2980>
they of the world <2889>, and the world <2889> heareth <0191>
them.

6 We are of God <2316>: he that knoweth <1097> God <2316>
heareth <0191> us; he that is not of God <2316> heareth <0191>
not us. Hereby <5124> know <1097> we the spirit < 4151> of truth
<0225>, and the spirit <4151> of error <4106>.

7. Beloved <0027>, let us love <0025> one < 0240> another <0240>:
for love <0026> is of God <2316>; and every < 3956> one that
loveth <0025> is born <1080> of God <2316>, and knoweth <1097>
God <2316>.

8 He that loveth <0025> not knoweth <1097> not God <2316>; for
God <2316> is love <0026>.

9 In this <5129> was manifested <5319> the love < 0026> of God
<2316> toward <1722> us, because <3754> that God <2316> sent
<0649> his only <3439> begotten <3439> Son < 5207> into <1519>
the world <2889>, that we might live <2198> through <1223> him.

10 Herein <5129> is love <0026>, not that we loved <0025> God
<2316>, but that he loved <0025> us, and sent < 0649> his Son
<5207> [to be] the propitiation <2434> for our sins <0266>.

11 Beloved <0027>, if <1487> God <2316> so <3779> loved <0025>
us, we ought <3784> also <2532> to love <0025> one <0240>
another <0240>.

12 No <3762> man <3762> hath seen <2300> God <2316> at <4455>
any <4455> time <4455>. If <1437> we love < 0026> one <0240>
another <0240>, God <2316> dwelleth <3306> in us, and his love
<0025> is perfected <5048> in us.

13 Hereby <5129> know <1097> we that we dwell < 3306> in him,
and he in us, because <3754> he hath given <1325> us of his
Spirit <4151>.

14. And we have seen <2300> and do testify <3140> that the
Father <3962> sent <0649> the Son <5207> [to be] the Saviour
<4990> of the world <2889>.

15 Whosoever <0302> shall confess <3670> that Jesus <2424> is
the Son <5207> of God <2316>, God <2316> dwelleth <3306> in him,
and he in God <2316>.

16 And we have known <1097> and believed <4100> the love
<0026> that God <2316> hath <2192> to us. God <2316> is love
<0026>; and he that dwelleth <3306> in love < 0026> dwelleth
<3306> in God <2316>, and God <2316> in him.

17. Herein <5129> is our love <0026> made < 5048> perfect <5048>,
that we may have <2192> boldness <3954> in the day <2250> of
judgment <2920>: because <3754> as he is, so < 2532> are we in
this <5129> world <2889>.

18 There is no <3756> fear <5401> in love < 0026>; but perfect
<5046> love <0026> casteth <0906> out fear < 5401>: because
<3754> fear <5401> hath <2192> torment < 2851>. He that feareth
<5399> is not made <5048> perfect <5048> in love <0026>.

19 We love <0025> him, because <3754> he first < 4413> loved
<0025> us.

20 If <1437> a man say <2036>, I love <0025> God <2316>, and
hateth <3404> his brother <0080>, he is a liar < 5583>: for he
that loveth <0025> not his brother <0080> whom < 3739> he hath
seen <3708>, how <4459> can <1410> he love < 0025> God <2316>
whom <3739> he hath not seen <3708>?

21 And this <5026> commandment <1785> have < 2192> we from him,
That he who loveth <0025> God <2316> love <0025> his brother
<0080> also <2532>.

1John 5

1. Whosoever <3588> believeth <4100> that Jesus < 2424> is the
Christ <5547> is born <1080> of God <2316>: and every <3956> one
that loveth <0025> him that begat <1080> loveth < 0025> him also
<2532> that is begotten <1080> of him.

2 By this <5129> we know <1097> that we love < 0025> the
children <5043> of God <2316>, when <3752> we love <0025> God
<2316>, and keep <5083> his commandments <1785>.

3 For this <3778> is the love <0026> of God < 2316>, that we
keep <5083> his commandments <1785>: and his commandments <1785>
are not grievous <0926>.

4 For whatsoever <3956> is born <1080> of God < 2316>
overcometh <3528> the world <2889>: and this < 3778> is the
victory <3529> that overcometh <3528> the world < 2889>, [even]
our faith <4102>.

5 Who <5101> is he that overcometh <3528> the world <2889>,
but he that believeth <4100> that Jesus <2424> is the Son <5207>
of God <2316>?

6. This <3778> is he that came <2064> by water < 5204> and blood
<0129>, [even] Jesus <2424> Christ <5547>; not by water <5204>
only <3440>, but by water <5204> and blood < 0129>. And it is the
Spirit <4151> that beareth <3140> witness <3140> , because <3754>
the Spirit <4151> is truth <0225>.

7 For there are three <5140> that bear <3140> record <3140> in
heaven <3772>, the Father <3962>, the Word < 3056>, and the Holy
<0040> Ghost <4151>: and these <3778> three < 5140> are one
<1520>.

8 And there are three <5140> that bear <3140> witness <3140>
in earth <1093>, the Spirit <4151>, and the water < 5204>, and
the blood <0129>: and these <3778> three <5140> agree <1526> in
one <1520>.

9 If <1487> we receive <2983> the witness < 3141> of men <0444>,
the witness <3141> of God <2316> is greater < 3187>: for this
<3778> is the witness <3141> of God <2316> which <3739> he hath
testified <3140> of his Son <5207>.

10. He that believeth <4100> on <1519> the Son < 5207> of God
<2316> hath <2192> the witness <3141> in himself <1438>: he that
believeth <4100> not God <2316> hath made <4160> him a liar
<5583>; because <3754> he believeth <4100> not the record <3141>
that God <2316> gave <3140> of his Son <5207>.

11 And this <3778> is the record <3141>, that God <2316> hath
given <1325> to us eternal <0166> life <2222>, and this <3778>
life <2222> is in his Son <5207>.

12 He that hath <2192> the Son <5207> hath < 2192> life <2222>;
[and] he that hath <2192> not the Son <5207> of God <2316> hath
<2192> not life <2222>.

13 These <5023> things have I written <1125> unto you that
believe <4100> on <1519> the name <3686> of the Son <5207> of
God <2316>; that ye may know <1492> that ye have < 2192> eternal
<0166> life <2222>, and that ye may believe < 4100> on <1519> the
name <3686> of the Son <5207> of God <2316>.

14. And this <3778> is the confidence <3954> that we have
<2192> in him, that, if <1437> we ask <0154> any <5100> thing
according <2596> to his will <2307>, he heareth < 0191> us:

15 And if <1437> we know <1492> that he hear < 0191> us,
whatsoever <0302> we ask <0154>, we know <1492> that we have
<2192> the petitions <0155> that we desired < 0154> of him.

16 If <1437> any <5100> man see <1492> his brother <0080> sin
<0264> a sin <0266> [which is] not unto death < 2288>, he shall
ask <0154>, and he shall give <1325> him life < 2222> for them
that sin <0264> not unto death <2288>. There is a sin <0266>
unto death <2288>: I do not say <3004> that he shall pray <2065>
for it.

17 All <3956> unrighteousness <0093> is sin < 0266>: and there
is a sin <0266> not unto death <2288>.

18. We know <1492> that whosoever <3588> is born < 1080> of God
<2316> sinneth <0264> not; but he that is begotten <1080> of God
<2316> keepeth <5083> himself <1438>, and that wicked <4190> one
toucheth <0680> him not.

19 [And] we know <1492> that we are of God <2316>, and the
whole <3650> world <2889> lieth <2749> in wickedness <4190>.

20 And we know <1492> that the Son <5207> of God <2316> is
come <2240>, and hath given <1325> us an understanding <1271>,
that we may know <1097> him that is true <0228>, and we are in
him that is true <0228>, [even] in his Son <5207> Jesus <2424>
Christ <5547>. This <3778> is the true <0228> God <2316>, and
eternal <0166> life <2222>.

21 Little <5040> children <5040>, keep <5442> yourselves
<1438> from idols <1497>. Amen <0281>.
