Isaiah 1
1. The vision <02377> of Isaiah <03470> the son <
01121> of Amoz <0531>, which <0834> he saw <02372>
concerning <05921> Judah <03063> and Jerusalem <03389>
in the days <03117> of Uzziah <05818>, Jotham <03147>,
Ahaz <0271>, [and] Hezekiah <02396>, kings <04428> of
Judah <03063>.
2. Hear <08085>, O heavens <08064>, and give ear <
0238>, O earth <0776>: for the LORD <03068> hath spoken <
01696>, I have nourished <01431> and brought <07311> up
children <01121>, and they have rebelled <06586> against me.
3 The ox <07794> knoweth <03045> his owner <
07069>, and the ass <02543> his master's <01167> crib <
018>: [but] Israel <03478> doth not know <03045>, my people
<05971> doth not consider <0995>.
4 Ah <01945> sinful <02398> nation <01471>, a
people <05971> laden <03515> with iniquity <05771>, a
seed <02233> of evildoers <07489>, children <01121> that
are corrupters <07843>: they have forsaken <05800> the LORD
<03068>, they have provoked <05006> the Holy <06918> One
of Israel <03478> unto anger <05006>, they are gone <
02114> away backward <0268>.
5 Why should ye be stricken <05221> any more <05750>
? ye will revolt <05627> more and more: the whole <03605> head
<07218> is sick <02483>, and the whole <03605> heart <
03824> faint <01742>.
6 From the sole <03709> of the foot <07272> even
unto the head <07218> [there is] no <0369> soundness <
04974> in it; [but] wounds <06482>, and bruises <02250>,
and putrifying <02961> sores <04347>: they have not been
closed <02115>, neither <03808> bound <02280> up,
neither <03808> mollified <07401> with ointment <08081>.
7 Your country <0776> [is] desolate <08077>, your
cities <05892> [are] burned <08313> with fire <0784>:
your land <0127>, strangers <02114> devour <0398> it in
your presence <05048>, and [it is] desolate <08077>, as
overthrown <04114> by strangers <02114>.
8 And the daughter <01323> of Zion <06726> is left
<03498> as a cottage <05521> in a vineyard <03754>, as a
lodge <04412> in a garden of cucumbers <04750>, as a besieged
<05341> city <05892>.
9 Except <03884> the LORD <03068> of hosts <
06635> had left <03498> unto us a very <04592> small <
04592> remnant <08300>, we should have been <01961> as
Sodom <05467>, [and] we should have been like <01819> unto
Gomorrah <06017>.
10. Hear <08085> the word <01697> of the LORD <
03068>, ye rulers <07101> of Sodom <05467>; give ear <
0238> unto the law <08451> of our God <0430>, ye people <
05971> of Gomorrah <06017>.
11 To what <04100> purpose [is] the multitude <
07230> of your sacrifices <02077> unto me? saith <0559> the
LORD <03068>: I am full <07646> of the burnt <05930>
offerings of rams <0352>, and the fat <02459> of fed <
04806> beasts <04806>; and I delight <02654> not in the
blood <01818> of bullocks <06499>, or of lambs <03532>,
or of he goats <06260>.
12 When <03588> ye come <0935> to appear <
07200> before <06440> me, who <04310> hath required <
01245> this <02063> at your hand <03027>, to tread <
07429> my courts <02691>?
13 Bring <0935> no <03808> more <05750> vain
<07723> oblations <04503>; incense <07004> is an
abomination <08441> unto me; the new <02320> moons <
02320> and sabbaths <07676>, the calling <07121> of
assemblies <04744>, I cannot away with; [it is] iniquity <0205>
, even the solemn <02282> meeting <06116>.
14 Your new <02320> moons <02320> and your
appointed <04150> feasts my soul <05315> hateth <08130>:
they are a trouble <02960> unto me; I am weary <03811> to bear
<05375> [them].
15 And when ye spread <06566> forth your hands <
03709>, I will hide <05956> mine eyes <05869> from you: yea
<01571>, when <03588> ye make many <07235> prayers <
08605>, I will not hear <08085>: your hands <03027> are
full <04390> of blood <01818>.
16. Wash <07364> you, make you clean <02135>; put
<05493> away <05493> the evil <07455> of your doings <
04611> from before <05048> mine eyes <05869>; cease <
02308> to do evil <07489>;
17 Learn <03925> to do well <03190>; seek <
01875> judgment <04941>, relieve <0833> the oppressed <
02541>, judge <08199> the fatherless <03490>, plead <
07378> for the widow <0490>.
18 Come <03212> now <04994>, and let us reason <
03198> together, saith <0559> the LORD <03068>: though <
0518> your sins <02399> be as scarlet <08144>, they shall
be as white <03835> as snow <07950>; though <0518> they
be red <0119> like <01819> crimson <08438>, they shall
be as wool <06785>.
19 If <0518> ye be willing <014> and obedient <
08085>, ye shall eat <0398> the good <02898> of the land
<0776>:
20 But if <0518> ye refuse <03985> and rebel <
04784>, ye shall be devoured <0398> with the sword <02719>:
for the mouth <06310> of the LORD <03068> hath spoken <
01696> [it].
21. How <0349> is the faithful <0539> city <
07151> become <01961> an harlot <02181>! it was full <
04392> of judgment <04941>; righteousness <06664> lodged
<03885> in it; but now <06258> murderers <07523>.
22 Thy silver <03701> is become <01961> dross <
05509>, thy wine <05435> mixed <04107> with water <
04325>:
23 Thy princes <08269> [are] rebellious <05637>,
and companions <02270> of thieves <01590>: every <03605>
one loveth <0157> gifts <07810>, and followeth <07291>
after rewards <08021>: they judge <08199> not the fatherless
<03490>, neither <03808> doth the cause <07379> of the
widow <0490> come <0935> unto them.
24 Therefore <03651> saith <05002> the Lord <
0113>, the LORD <03068> of hosts <06635>, the mighty <
046> One of Israel <03478>, Ah <01945>, I will ease <
05162> me of mine adversaries <06862>, and avenge <05358>
me of mine enemies <0341>:
25 And I will turn <07725> my hand <03027> upon
thee, and purely <01252> purge <06884> away thy dross <
05509>, and take <05493> away <05493> all <03605> thy
tin <0913>:
26 And I will restore <07725> thy judges <08199> as
at the first <07223>, and thy counsellors <03289> as at the
beginning <08462>: afterward thou shalt be called <07121>, The
city <05892> of righteousness <06664>, the faithful <
0539> city <07151>.
27 Zion <06726> shall be redeemed <06299> with
judgment <04941>, and her converts <07725> with righteousness
<06666>.
28 And the destruction <07667> of the transgressors <
06586> and of the sinners <02400> [shall be] together <
03162>, and they that forsake <05800> the LORD <03068>
shall be consumed <03615>.
29 For they shall be ashamed <0954> of the oaks <
0352> which <0834> ye have desired <02530>, and ye shall be
confounded <02659> for the gardens <01593> that ye have chosen
<0977>.
30 For ye shall be as an oak <0424> whose leaf <
05929> fadeth <05034>, and as a garden <01593> that hath no
<0369> water <04325>.
31 And the strong <02634> shall be as tow <05296>,
and the maker <06467> of it as a spark <05213>, and they shall
both <08147> burn <01197> together <03162>, and none <
0369> shall quench <03518> [them].
Isaiah 2
1. The word <01697> that Isaiah <03470> the son <
01121> of Amoz <0531> saw <02372> concerning <05921>
Judah <03063> and Jerusalem <03389>.
2 And it shall come <01961> to pass in the last <
0319> days <03117>, [that] the mountain <02022> of the
LORD'S <03068> house <01004> shall be established <03559>
in the top <07218> of the mountains <02022>, and shall be
exalted <05375> above the hills <01389>; and all <03605>
nations <01471> shall flow <05102> unto it.
3 And many <07227> people <05971> shall go <
01980> and say <0559>, Come <03212> ye, and let us go <
05927> up to the mountain <02022> of the LORD <03068>, to
the house <01004> of the God <0430> of Jacob <03290>;
and he will teach <03384> us of his ways <01870>, and we will
walk <03212> in his paths <0734>: for out of Zion <06726>
shall go <03318> forth <03318> the law <08451>, and the
word <01697> of the LORD <03068> from Jerusalem <03389>.
4 And he shall judge <08199> among <0996> the
nations <01471>, and shall rebuke <03198> many <07227>
people <05971>: and they shall beat <03807> their swords <
02719> into plowshares <0855>, and their spears <02595>
into pruninghooks <04211>: nation <01471> shall not lift <
05375> up sword <02719> against <0413> nation <01471>,
neither <03808> shall they learn <03925> war <04421>
any more <05750>.
5 O house <01004> of Jacob <03290>, come <
03212> ye, and let us walk <03212> in the light <0216> of
the LORD <03068>.
6. Therefore thou hast forsaken <05203> thy people <
05971> the house <01004> of Jacob <03290>, because <
03588> they be replenished <04390> from the east <06924>,
and [are] soothsayers <06049> like the Philistines <06430>,
and they please <05606> themselves in the children <03206> of
strangers <05237>.
7 Their land <0776> also is full <04390> of silver
<03701> and gold <02091>, neither <03808> [is there any]
end <07097> of their treasures <0214>; their land <0776>
is also full <04390> of horses <05483>, neither <03808>
[is there any] end <07097> of their chariots <04818>:
8 Their land <0776> also is full <04390> of idols
<0457>; they worship <07812> the work <04639> of their
own hands <03027>, that which <0834> their own fingers <
0676> have made <06213>:
9 And the mean <0120> man <01201> boweth <
07817> down <07817>, and the great man <0376> humbleth <
08213> himself: therefore forgive <05375> them not.
10. Enter <0935> into the rock <06697>, and hide <
02934> thee in the dust <06083>, for fear <06343> of the
LORD <03068>, and for the glory <01926> of his majesty <
01347>.
11 The lofty <01365> looks <05869> of man <
0120> shall be humbled <08213>, and the haughtiness <07312>
of men <0582> shall be bowed <07817> down <07817>, and
the LORD <03068> alone <0905> shall be exalted <07682>
in that day <03117>.
12 For the day <03117> of the LORD <03068> of hosts
<06635> [shall be] upon every <03605> [one that is] proud <
01343> and lofty <07311>, and upon every <03605> [one that
is] lifted <05375> up; and he shall be brought <08213> low <
08213>:
13 And upon all <03605> the cedars <0730> of
Lebanon <03844>, [that are] high <07311> and lifted <
05375> up, and upon all <03605> the oaks <0437> of Bashan
<01316>,
14 And upon all <03605> the high <07311> mountains
<02022>, and upon all <03605> the hills <01389> [that
are] lifted <05375> up,
15 And upon every <03605> high <01364> tower <
04026>, and upon every <03605> fenced <01219> wall <
02346>,
16 And upon all <03605> the ships <0591> of
Tarshish <08659>, and upon all <03605> pleasant <02532>
pictures <07914>.
17 And the loftiness <01365> of man <0120> shall be
bowed <07817> down <07817>, and the haughtiness <07312>
of men <0582> shall be made low <08213>: and the LORD <
03068> alone <0905> shall be exalted <07682> in that day
<03117>.
18 And the idols <0457> he shall utterly <03632>
abolish <02498>.
19 And they shall go <0935> into the holes <04631>
of the rocks <06697>, and into the caves <04247> of the earth
<06083>, for fear <06343> of the LORD <03068>, and for
the glory <01926> of his majesty <01347>, when he ariseth <
06965> to shake <06206> terribly <06206> the earth <
0776>.
20 In that day <03117> a man <0120> shall cast <
07993> his idols <0457> of silver <03701>, and his idols
<0457> of gold <02091>, which <0834> they made [each
one] for himself to worship <07812>, to the moles <02661> and
to the bats <05847>;
21 To go <0935> into the clefts <05366> of the
rocks <06697>, and into the tops <05585> of the ragged rocks
<05553>, for fear <06343> of the LORD <03068>, and for
the glory <01926> of his majesty <01347>, when he ariseth <
06965> to shake <06206> terribly <06206> the earth <
0776>.
22 Cease <02308> ye from man <0120>, whose <
0834> breath <05397> [is] in his nostrils <0639>: for
wherein <04100> is he to be accounted <02803> of?
Isaiah 3
1. For, behold <02009>, the Lord <0113>, the LORD
<03068> of hosts <06635>, doth take <05493> away <
05493> from Jerusalem <03389> and from Judah <03063> the
stay <04937> and the staff <04938>, the whole <03605>
stay <08172> of bread <03899>, and the whole <03605>
stay <04937> of water <04325>,
2 The mighty <01368> man, and the man <0376> of war
<04421>, the judge <08199>, and the prophet <05030>, and
the prudent <07080>, and the ancient <02204>,
3 The captain <08269> of fifty <02572>, and the
honourable man, and the counsellor <03289>, and the cunning <
02450> artificer <02796>, and the eloquent <0995> orator
<03908>.
4 And I will give <05414> children <05288> [to be]
their princes <08269>, and babes <08586> shall rule <
04910> over them.
5 And the people <05971> shall be oppressed <05065>,
every <0376> one <0376> by another, and every <0376>
one <0376> by his neighbour <07453>: the child <05288>
shall behave <07292> himself proudly <07292> against the
ancient <02204>, and the base <07034> against the honourable
<03519>.
6 When <03588> a man <0376> shall take <08610>
hold <08610> of his brother <0251> of the house <01004>
of his father <01>, [saying], Thou hast clothing <08071>, be
thou our ruler <07101>, and [let] this <02063> ruin <
04384> [be] under <08478> thy hand <03027>:
7 In that day <03117> shall he swear <05375>,
saying <0559>, I will not be an healer <02280>; for in my
house <01004> [is] neither <0369> bread <03899> nor <
0369> clothing <08071>: make <07760> me not a ruler <
07101> of the people <05971>.
8 For Jerusalem <03389> is ruined <03782>, and
Judah <03063> is fallen <05307>: because <03588> their
tongue <03956> and their doings <04611> [are] against <
0413> the LORD <03068>, to provoke <04784> the eyes <
05869> of his glory <03519>.
9. The shew <01971> of their countenance <06440>
doth witness <05707> against them; and they declare <05046>
their sin <02403> as Sodom <05467>, they hide <03582>
[it] not. Woe <0188> unto their soul <05315>! for they have
rewarded <01580> evil <07451> unto themselves <01992>.
10 Say <0559> ye to the righteous <06662>, that [it
shall be] well <02896> [with him]: for they shall eat <0398>
the fruit <06529> of their doings <04611>.
11 Woe <0188> unto the wicked <07563>! [it shall
be] ill <07451> [with him]: for the reward <01576> of his
hands <03027> shall be given <06213> him.
12 [As for] my people <05971>, children <05768>
[are] their oppressors <05065>, and women <0802> rule <
04910> over them. O my people <05971>, they which lead <
0833> thee cause [thee] to err <08582>, and destroy <01104>
the way <01870> of thy paths <0734>.
13 The LORD <03068> standeth <05324> up to plead
<07378>, and standeth <05975> to judge <01777> the
people <05971>.
14 The LORD <03068> will enter <0935> into judgment
<04941> with the ancients <02204> of his people <05971>,
and the princes <08269> thereof: for ye have eaten <0398> up
the vineyard <03754>; the spoil <01500> of the poor <
06041> [is] in your houses <01004>.
15 What <04100> mean ye [that] ye beat <01792> my
people <05971> to pieces, and grind <02912> the faces <
06440> of the poor <06041>? saith <05002> the Lord <
03068> GOD <03069> of hosts <06635>.
16. Moreover the LORD <03068> saith <0559>, Because
the daughters <01121> of Zion <06726> are haughty <01361>
, and walk <03212> with stretched <05186> forth necks <
01627> and wanton <08265> eyes <05869>, walking <
01980> and mincing <02952> [as] they go <03212>, and making
a tinkling <05913> with their feet <07272>:
17 Therefore the Lord <0136> will smite <05596>
with a scab <05597> the crown <06936> of the head <06936>
of the daughters <01121> of Zion <06726>, and the LORD <
03068> will discover <06168> their secret <06596> parts.
18 In that day <03117> the Lord <0136> will take
<05493> away <05493> the bravery <08597> of [their]
tinkling ornaments <05914> [about their feet], and [their] cauls <
07636>, and [their] round <07720> tires <07720> like the
moon,
19 The chains <05188>, and the bracelets <08285>,
and the mufflers <07479>,
20 The bonnets <06287>, and the ornaments <06807>
of the legs <06807>, and the headbands <07196>, and the
tablets, and the earrings <03908>,
21 The rings <02885>, and nose <0639> jewels <
05141>,
22 The changeable <04254> suits of apparel <04254>,
and the mantles <04595>, and the wimples <04304>, and the
crisping <02754> pins,
23 The glasses <01549>, and the fine linen <05466>,
and the hoods <06797>, and the vails <07289>.
24 And it shall come <01961> to pass, [that] instead <
08478> of sweet <01314> smell <01314> there shall be stink
<04716>; and instead <08478> of a girdle <02290> a rent
<05364>; and instead <08478> of well <04639> set hair
<04748> baldness <07144>; and instead <08478> of a
stomacher <06614> a girding <04228> of sackcloth <08242>;
[and] burning <03587> instead <08478> of beauty <03308>.
25 Thy men <04962> shall fall <05307> by the sword
<02719>, and thy mighty <01369> in the war <04421>.
26 And her gates <06607> shall lament <0578> and
mourn <056>; and she [being] desolate <05352> shall sit <
03427> upon the ground <0776>.
Isaiah 4
1. And in that day <03117> seven <07651> women <
0802> shall take <02388> hold <02388> of one <0259>
man <0376>, saying <0559>, We will eat <0398> our own
bread <03899>, and wear <03847> our own apparel <08071>:
only <07535> let us be called <07121> by thy name <08034>
, to take <0622> away our reproach <02781>.
2. In that day <03117> shall the branch <06780> of
the LORD <03068> be beautiful <06643> and glorious <
03519>, and the fruit <06529> of the earth <0776> [shall
be] excellent <01347> and comely <08597> for them that are
escaped <06413> of Israel <03478>.
3 And it shall come <01961> to pass, [that he that is]
left <07604> in Zion <06726>, and [he that] remaineth <
03498> in Jerusalem <03389>, shall be called <0559> holy
<06918>, [even] every <03605> one that is written <03789>
among the living <02416> in Jerusalem <03389>:
4 When <0518> the Lord <0136> shall have washed <
07364> away the filth <06675> of the daughters <01121> of
Zion <06726>, and shall have purged <01740> the blood <
01818> of Jerusalem <03389> from the midst <07130> thereof
by the spirit <07307> of judgment <04941>, and by the spirit
<07307> of burning <01197>.
5 And the LORD <03068> will create <01254> upon
every <03605> dwelling <04349> place of mount <02022>
Zion <06726>, and upon her assemblies <04744>, a cloud <
06051> and smoke <06227> by day <03119>, and the shining
<05051> of a flaming <03852> fire <0784> by night <
03915>: for upon all <03605> the glory <03519> [shall be] a
defence <02646>.
6 And there shall be a tabernacle <05521> for a shadow
<06738> in the daytime <03119> from the heat <02721>,
and for a place of refuge <04268>, and for a covert <04563>
from storm <02230> and from rain <04306>.
Isaiah 5
1. Now <04994> will I sing <07891> to my wellbeloved
<03039> a song <07892> of my beloved <01730> touching
his vineyard <03754>. My wellbeloved <03039> hath a vineyard
<03754> in a very fruitful hill <07161>:
2 And he fenced <05823> it, and gathered out the stones
<05619> thereof, and planted <05193> it with the choicest <
08321> vine <08321>, and built <01129> a tower <04026>
in the midst <08432> of it, and also <01571> made <
02672> a winepress <03342> therein <08432>: and he looked
<06960> that it should bring <06213> forth <06213>
grapes <06025>, and it brought <06213> forth <06213>
wild <0891> grapes <0891>.
3 And now <06258>, O inhabitants <03427> of
Jerusalem <03389>, and men <0376> of Judah <03063>,
judge <08199>, I pray <04994> you, betwixt <0996> me and
my vineyard <03754>.
4 What <04100> could have been done <06466> more
<05750> to my vineyard <03754>, that I have not done <
06466> in it? wherefore <04069>, when I looked <06960> that
it should bring <06213> forth <06213> grapes <06025>,
brought <06213> it forth <06213> wild <0891> grapes <
0891>?
5 And now <06258> go to; I will tell <03045> you
what I will do <06213> to my vineyard <03754>: I will take <
05493> away <05493> the hedge <04881> thereof, and it shall
be eaten <0398> up; [and] break <06555> down the wall <
01447> thereof, and it shall be trodden <04823> down:
6 And I will lay it waste <01326>: it shall not be pruned
<02167>, nor <03808> digged <05737>; but there shall
come <05927> up briers <08068> and thorns <07898>: I
will also command <06680> the clouds <05645> that they rain
<04305> no rain <04306> upon it.
7 For the vineyard <03754> of the LORD <03068> of
hosts <06635> [is] the house <01004> of Israel <03478>,
and the men <0376> of Judah <03063> his pleasant <08191>
plant <05194>: and he looked <06970> for judgment <04941>
, but behold <02009> oppression <04939>; for righteousness <
06666>, but behold <02009> a cry <06818>.
8. Woe <01945> unto them that join <05060> house <
01004> to house <01004>, [that] lay <07126> field <
07704> to field <07704>, till <05704> [there be] no <
0675> place <04725>, that they may be placed <03427> alone
<0905> in the midst <07130> of the earth <0776>!
9 In mine ears <0241> [said] the LORD <03068> of
hosts <06635>, Of a truth many <07227> houses <01004>
shall be desolate <08047>, [even] great <01419> and fair <
02896>, without <0369> inhabitant <03427>.
10 Yea <03588>, ten <06235> acres <06776> of
vineyard <03754> shall yield <06213> one <0259> bath <
01324>, and the seed <02233> of an homer <02563> shall
yield <06213> an ephah <0374>.
11 Woe <01945> unto them that rise <07925> up early
<07925> in the morning <01242>, [that] they may follow <
07291> strong drink <07941>; that continue <0309> until
night <05399>, [till] wine <03196> inflame <01814> them!
12 And the harp <03658>, and the viol <05035>, the
tabret <08596>, and pipe <02485>, and wine <03196>, are
in their feasts <04960>: but they regard <05027> not the work
<06467> of the LORD <03068>, neither <03808> consider
<07200> the operation <04639> of his hands <03027>.
13 Therefore <03651> my people <05971> are gone
into captivity <01540>, because [they have] no <01097>
knowledge <01847>: and their honourable <03519> men <
04962> [are] famished <07458>, and their multitude <01995>
dried <06704> up with thirst <06772>.
14 Therefore <03651> hell <07585> hath enlarged <
07337> herself <05315>, and opened <06473> her mouth <
06310> without <01097> measure <02706>: and their glory <
01926>, and their multitude <01995>, and their pomp <07588>,
and he that rejoiceth <05937>, shall descend <03381> into it.
15 And the mean <0120> man <0120> shall be brought
<07817> down <07817>, and the mighty <0376> man <
0376> shall be humbled <08213>, and the eyes <05869> of the
lofty <01364> shall be humbled <08213>:
16 But the LORD <03068> of hosts <06635> shall be
exalted <01361> in judgment <04941>, and God <0410> that
is holy <06918> shall be sanctified <06942> in righteousness
<06666>.
17 Then shall the lambs <03532> feed <07462> after
their manner <01699>, and the waste <02723> places of the fat
<04220> ones shall strangers <01481> eat <0398>.
18. Woe <01945> unto them that draw <04900> iniquity
<05771> with cords <02256> of vanity <07723>, and sin
<02402> as it were with a cart <05699> rope <05688>:
19 That say <0559>, Let him make speed <04116>,
[and] hasten <02363> his work <04639>, that we may see <
07200> [it]: and let the counsel <06098> of the Holy <06918>
One of Israel <03478> draw nigh <07126> and come <0935>,
that we may know <03045> [it]!
20 Woe <01945> unto them that call <0559> evil <
07451> good <02896>, and good <02896> evil <07451>;
that put <07760> darkness <02822> for light <0216>, and
light <0216> for darkness <02822>; that put <07760>
bitter <04751> for sweet <04966>, and sweet <04966> for
bitter <04751>!
21 Woe <01945> unto [them that are] wise <02450> in
their own eyes <05869>, and prudent <0995> in their own sight
<06440>!
22 Woe <01945> unto [them that are] mighty <01368>
to drink <08354> wine <03196>, and men <0582> of
strength <02428> to mingle <04537> strong drink <07941>:
23 Which justify <06663> the wicked <07563> for
reward <07810>, and take <05493> away <05493> the
righteousness <06666> of the righteous <06662> from him!
24 Therefore <03651> as the fire <0784> devoureth
<0398> the stubble <07179>, and the flame <03852>
consumeth <07503> the chaff <02842>, [so] their root <
08328> shall be as rottenness <04716>, and their blossom <
06525> shall go <05927> up as dust <080>: because <
03588> they have cast <03988> away the law <08451> of the
LORD <03068> of hosts <06635>, and despised <05006> the
word <0565> of the Holy <06918> One of Israel <03478>.
25 Therefore is the anger <0639> of the LORD <03068>
kindled <02734> against his people <05971>, and he hath
stretched <05186> forth his hand <03027> against <05921>
them, and hath smitten <05221> them: and the hills <02022> did
tremble <07264>, and their carcases <05038> [were] torn <
05478> in the midst <07130> of the streets <02351>. For all
<03605> this <02063> his anger <0639> is not turned <
07725> away, but his hand <03027> [is] stretched <05186>
out still <05750>.
26 And he will lift <05375> up an ensign <05251> to
the nations <01471> from far <07350>, and will hiss <
08319> unto them from the end <07097> of the earth <0776>:
and, behold <02009>, they shall come <0935> with speed <
04120> swiftly <07031>:
27 None <0369> shall be weary <05889> nor <
03808> stumble <03782> among them; none <03808> shall
slumber <05123> nor <03808> sleep <03463>; neither <
03808> shall the girdle <0232> of their loins <02504> be
loosed <06605>, nor <03808> the latchet <08288> of their
shoes <05275> be broken <05423>:
28 Whose <0834> arrows <02671> [are] sharp <
08150>, and all <03605> their bows <07198> bent <
01869>, their horses <05483>' hoofs <06541> shall be
counted <02803> like flint <06864>, and their wheels <
01534> like a whirlwind:
29 Their roaring <07581> [shall be] like a lion <
03833>, they shall roar <07580> like young <03715> lions
<03715>: yea, they shall roar <05098>, and lay hold <
0270> of the prey <02964>, and shall carry <06403> [it]
away safe <06403>, and none <0369> shall deliver <05337>
[it].
30 And in that day <03117> they shall roar <05098>
against <05921> them like the roaring <05100> of the sea <
03220>: and if [one] look <05027> unto the land <0776>,
behold <02009> darkness <02822> [and] sorrow <06862>,
and the light <0216> is darkened <02821> in the heavens <
06183> thereof.
Isaiah 6
1. In the year <08141> that king <04428> Uzziah <
05818> died <04194> I saw <07200> also the Lord <0136>
sitting <03427> upon a throne <03678>, high <07311> and
lifted <05375> up, and his train <07757> filled <04390>
the temple <01964>.
2 Above <04605> it stood <05975> the seraphims <
08314>: each <0259> one <0259> had six <08337> wings
<03671>; with twain <08147> he covered <03680> his face
<06440>, and with twain <08147> he covered <03680> his
feet <07272>, and with twain <08147> he did fly <05774>.
3 And one cried <07121> unto another <02088>, and
said <0559>, Holy <06918>, holy <06918>, holy <
06918>, [is] the LORD <03068> of hosts <06635>: the whole
<03605> earth <0776> [is] full <04393> of his glory <
03519>.
4 And the posts <0520> of the door <05592> moved
<05128> at the voice <06963> of him that cried <07121>,
and the house <01004> was filled <04390> with smoke <
06227>.
5. Then said <0559> I, Woe <0188> [is] me! for I am
undone <01820>; because <03588> I [am] a man <0376> of
unclean <02931> lips <08193>, and I dwell <03427> in the
midst <08432> of a people <05971> of unclean <02931>
lips <08193>: for mine eyes <05869> have seen <07200>
the King <04428>, the LORD <03068> of hosts <06635>.
